Default Week Commencing 4th February 2013

    Starter!

86/73 in the Mug at Reddy Bay today. One of those days when everything was just a little off, enough to make it hard to score.

2 doubles, no birdies, 10 bogeys. 5 fairways and 6 greens, 32 putts (2 x 3 putt GIRs ...). Handicap will drop but 0.2 I think. I will have 6 of the last 10 counting, with a 12 coming off next round.

79/62 at Redcliffe today. 1 birdie, 1 double, 1 triple. 29 putts, one 3 putt.

The only thing that really excited me was the putting - I missed fairways and stuffed up in a bunker and irons were a bit meh!
My putting lesson a month ago has started to pay dividends. I know Eag's has always said that if/when I learn to putt my scores would drop but in the past 4 weeks my putting has been improving incrementally until today where it was actually the reason I saved a lot of pars. Before this it was generally short game around the greens getting me within tap in distance instead of rolling in 6 footers like a real golfer
    Cheers
    Craig

Played in a stampede this afternoon. Got knocked out (in a chip off) on the third hole!

Birdie - Par - double... 1 over for 3 holes and my day was done.

39 points at KH today. That is going to cost me a shot before next weekend for sure.

    I feel your pain, Bruce.

I played Haysey & poc at Cairns this morning in an individual stab. I ended up shooting 38 pts even with a wipe on each side. The back nine was nothing special with 17 pts, but on the front I had 21 pts (-1) in the 8 holes I scored on (Hit an OOB on 3 and then the 2nd ball finished in an unplayable position under a tree).

By my reckoning I'll drop to 7. I didn't manage that very well.

Total spazzout today. No idea where the ball was going. But putting was good, didn't miss from inside 4' and rolled a couple of big ones in. Weird game.

    23points
I just didn't feel right standing over the ball all day. My "controlled fade" turned into a massive slice again.
The round can be summed up by this little snapshot. I hit my tee shot on a par 3 short and into the water, asked a mate to throw me another ball from my bag and he threw it into the water. He then grabbed another one and walked it over to me. I hit that into the water too. Hopefully it's a simple matter of only playing 9 holes in a month and will be better next week.

24 points today here too. Held it together reasonably well on the front 9 with 16 points. Fell over my own feet on the back 9 for 8 points. It was blowing about 30-40km/hr but that's no excuse.

My game is just royally STUFFED. Might try and sneak off for a hit or two in the next few days otherwise champs will be a LOOOONG 5 days.

76/74 in the medal today. Driver was OK without being spectacular, irons were pretty bloody good and I was fairly tight around the greens except the few obligatory brain farts.

I had a fairly bizarre penalty on the 16th...I hit my driver to the right side of the fairway, saw it bounce then roll until nearly stopped. Spent a few minutes looking for partners balls then went to hit mine, could not find it. Went back and hit another one, whinged to the blokes on the tee about it. Played out the hole, birdied the hole with the second ball. Approaching the green on the next hole and one of the guys in the group behind us says 'you said a TP5 number 3, right?' yup...had my mark on it, he found it about 150m further down the hole in the right rough. No way it went there by itself, or it was a 390m drive. We could not figure out how it got there, there is a hole parallel but it goes the opposite direction and the hole going the same direction is another 40m or so away. Odd

45 points today to win the A grade comp.
Three holes shortened following the floods 2 weekends ago but the course has stood up remarkably well considering we had 6 greens go under when the Logan river burst it's banks. Par was reduced to 67 (70 normally) but I finished birdie, birdie for my first ever sub par round of 65. Out in 37 (1 over) and home in 28 (3 under) with 21 putts. 2 bogies and 4 birdies made for a great day out! Unfortunately it won't be handicapped as all bunkers were still out of play. Didn't effect me as I did not get in one all day. Bring on next week when we should be back playing the full course!

Saw your score on Gamebook Marto, I would say nice round but not right now since you're one of those dirty unionists.
