He's just seat warming for Shorten in case they fall over the line at the election. Razaar has it right, read the book and find out what a miserable piece of work KR is.

This Rudd/Gillard/Rudd situation reminds me of Proverbs 26:11, "As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools [in this case, the ALP] repeat their folly." Or PJ Keating's quote regarding Andrew Peacock, "Can a souffle rise twice?"

No hate Yoss, hate is a destructive emotion. I'm just someone who has been subject to bullying over the years by similar types of people. Both my wife (on a professional and personal level) and I have tried to counter this sort of bullying in a number of environments, in both work and community organisations.

So please forgive me if I get a little concerned about an incumbent PM who displays those character traits.

c'mon Westy, you're a massive right winged Liberal apologist - just embrace it!

Is it true that the Crudd has Paul Murray held in captivity? Just kidding- bet it has crossed his mind.

They're all underqualified to run a country. One party can't even sort themselves out.

    More than likely.

Don't you think those with all the hatred for all things labor would actually say why?

Unfortunately AndyP I think you're overconfident about this. Rudd could easily win it, look at the polls now. To me that would be an absolute travesty.

Rudd will win, and we will get another grubby government and deserve it.

So many red flags and warning signs - but the people still love him, even though their own beloved ALP loathe him and will throw him out of office within 12 months....!

They should just roll him out every 3 years for elections

Polls might be showing better because of the change from Gillard back to him. The party might have liked her but plenty of people didn't. If only Turnbull was leading the libs. Give the polls a couple of weeks to settle down.

He's certainly trying to get the supporters: first Muslim sworn in, lots of women in his cabinet, supporting gay marriage and calling for a conscious vote. Any minority groups he's missed yet?

The other important factor in Rudd's favour, apart from Abbott being pretty unpopular is that the Coalition campaign will attack him based on all the shocking stuff his own party said about him. Conroy, Swan, Gillard etc didn't miss him at all with some of the criticism.

However, given most of the people that bagged the shit out of him are retiring from politics, the line from the coalition that Rudd's own party hates him won't carry as much weight, because 90% of the ones that 'publicly' despise him are quitting. I mean we know that nearly all of the ALP hate him, but the ones that went public are walking

Moe, the mail was that Labor would only hold onto Rudds seat in Qld. Are your people swinging back in favour of Qlds favourite son?

While at elections we are voting for our local member, when you chat to people it's all about the leader. How much influence does the leader really truly have? I mean in final decision making? They obviously have advisers, people working out what needs to be done etc etc. So just how big a difference to the workings of the whole party does a different leader make? And how much is public perception?
And how many hard working people who would have been fantastic sitting members haven't gotten a chance because the p public can't see past either the leader, or sticking to their regular party vote?

I vote for whichever party I want to get in, regardless of the local member. That's the way it works ultimately. If you want a particular party to get in you're going to vote for that local member, even if he is a knob. Why if I want the liberals in power would I vote for the local labor member, or vice versa?
