    Default Howdy from GC

    Hey all ,

Fairly new to the game been playing maybe 3 months with some eBay sticks at little par 3 courses , probably more drinking than playing but have been hooked by it and keen to start getting more serious about golf. Just recently joined the gccc and got myself a nice set up for Xmas haven't got my handicap yet but should have by this weekend even tho I'm sure it won't be pretty my cards were all 105+ but gotta start somewhere ... Love the look of this site and would be good to meet others who love this game as much as I am right now!!!

    Cheers

Welcome Waddzy, its a shame you have joined Helensvale's 2nd best golf club but no worries, not many people stay at the same club forever.

    Welcome Waddzy.

You should get a handicap and play in the monthly QAGA games.
You don't get me. I'm part of the Union.

I know Stu but I dont take lessons from him. I just hit his golf balls down the paddock and then he goes and picks them up. From getting to know him I have a lot of confidence in that he is a good teacher. He does a lot of work with the young golfers and has a good rep from them.

    Welcome to the forum Waddzy.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
