    Get it right Mr Points-His-Rangie-At-Monsta's-Arse.

It's 170m for the driver, then 10 less for each club and 50m for the mighty swing with a SW.

Not really, I've got very bad depth perception. It takes a couple of seconds and there is a massive difference between a 25 or 30m chips and 40 or 45m pitches.

If you playing from under 100m's, work it out as a percentage from where your ball is. If you can see the the 150m marker in the distance, use your 3 wood.
10m is huge. From this comment, I suspect you are not a low capper.

Your theory works great if you are in the fairway and the course has relatively small greens. If you are in the rough, you have no markers unless they are raised. If you are well off line

Kennedy Bay has greens that are 60m deep. Sometimes it is very deceiving where the pin is. If you are 10m off on your estimate and you get the position wrong, you could be 50-60m off in the distance you need.

As someone also said, yardage markers only give you the distance to the green centre. Sometimes you need distances to bunkers, corners, etc.

I will often laser a front bunker too. That way I know how far I need to hit to carry that bunker.
No yardage marker can tell me that.

I've had my rangefinder only a few weeks but it has surprised me by how much I was under estimating and over estimating distances mostly on long par 5 holes where the 100 and 150 markers aren't in play for the second shot. Even on par 3 holes where the tee marker is sometimes 25m or more forward.

It's funny on par 3's how much the sign showing yardage can be out

I've had my Nikon Camo since 2008. It had performed flawlessly and still quicker than most others that I have played with.

It's backlit and submersible to 2m of pressure. Meaning it is waterproof.

I was thinking what the **** does it matter and then boom, there it was.

My Bushnell 1600 is also waterproof.

And FWIW, probably one of the best out there. Truly leaves the V series for dead apart from size.

For those looking for a cheap gps, I've been told that the $99 Onyx GPS from ALDI is just a rebadged version on the bushnell yardage pro.

$135 for Golf Craft Target Caddie
Is this good or should I just spend a bit more and find a V2/V3?

Wenz I have a rangemaster which cost $200 and I think Coalesce has a Bushnell. You can try mine out on Sun and pretty sure Coalesce won't mind if you compare against his.

Mine is a Leopold GX1, but you are welcome to try it. I paid US$250 for it in Sept 2012.
