    Well for the sake of maintaining etiquette I'm letting you all know that I had a shit game today. 33 points.

    To minimise the monotomy of my posts you can assume the same for this Saturday's medal unless you hear otherwise. (nothing like confidence)

    Happy New Year all. Play well and enjoy. Even the bad games are good fun!

    If 33 points is considered a shit game, some of you need a reality adjustment

    Yeah but prior to teeing off I was planning on about 43 points, not 33 The best laid plans....

    Not that there was any logic behind the expectation.

    Default Week Commencing 31st December 2012

    I played a single stab at Cairns GC with Solarman & Haysey yesterday morning. Backing up 3 consecutive 40pt rounds was going to be a tough ask, especially after spending the previous day doing manual labour in the yard, but I managed to hold it together for 37 pts. I left a ton out there (again), but it was still a nice way to finish out the year.

    I had 32 points today, so there

    Hit the ball reasonably well, but putted badly and had soft bogeys galore, including a quad after being greenside for 2. Duffed a chip so badly that I double tapped it, then knocked it on and 3 putted - talented! The 45 minutes chipping beforehand did nothing for me.

    Better luck in the proper comp tomorrow.

    38 points off 9. 17+21 = leading a small field on countback.

    Zero wipes. So this can be my 2013 goal - most holes without a wipe.

    85/71 today, 38f, 47b.

    Had my best ever score for 9 holes on the front (could have been at least even if I could chip better)
    Back 9 was on the bogey train and couldnt get off until the 16th where I had a lost ball and a 9. So bit of a choke!

    Handicap down to 13.3 (new anchor)

    Played my usual 2 ball game Monday @ Kapunda using different drivers 910 D3 v R11's.
    My whole game was just average. Quite a few drives with both balls ended up stone dead with no chance of advancing far enough to salvage pars with good pitching/chipping.

    910 D3 83/77
    FH = 4/15 - 1in, 3 out
    DD = 8/15 - 3in, 5 out
    GIR = 7/18 - 4in, 3out
    Putts = 30
    2 doubles, 1 birdie

    R11's 86/81
    FH = 6/15 - 3in, 3out
    DD = 7/15 - 3in, 4out
    GIR = 5/18 - 3in, 2out
    Putts = 29
    1 triple, 3 doubles, 1 birdie

    2013 started the way 2012 finished, good golf but no real show of it on the scorecard.

    Shot 73 for 36 points, game was solid everywhere without being overly spectacular. Left a number of shots on the slow greens.

    Drove really well, my Cobra is really trying to stick it up all the other drivers...might have a fire sale soon
    Irons really good, wedges good, putting pretty good just not falling.

    Stats:
    11/13 DIF
    15 GIR
    36 putts

    Wow. Today was the most freakish, licorice allsorts kinda day I've ever had.

    I had one of those streaks that only comes along once every few years - 4 birdies in the first 5 holes, including shaving the hole for an eagle on the 520+ metre second. Shame the third was a wipe! Shaved the hole for birdie on 6 too, then played scratchy golf for the next 8 holes including topping a sand iron into 9 and skying a drive 100m down 11 (then hitting a 3 wood from 220m off hardpan onto the green). Doubled 15 for a wipe. Then finished par birdie par for 40 points and 78 off the stick, got 2nd in A grade on a countback.

    Who fricking knows what this game is going to deal out from one day to the next. I've given up trying to figure it out, I'm just drinking lots of beer tonight and trying to be happy.

    Edit: almost forgot, here are the stats if anyone cares! And double edit, my handicap is now at an all time low of 8.2....

    Monthly Mug day today at Reddie Bay and the weather was an absolute stinker. I was looking forward to continuing my recent form, but that didn't surface till the second nine.

    Finished with 86/77 (40/46).

    31 Putts
    8/14 FIR
    4/18 GIR
    8 pars
    7 bogeys
    2 Dbl
    1 Triple

    Started on the back nine and didn't hit a fairway till the 18th, I was scrambling hard with very mixed results to turn with all of the hcp used up. Started to hit form immediately on the front nine with very solid drives and short game. Missed a putt from about 5m for birdie on the first and that was pretty much the story for most of the nine. I got through the first seven holes in 1 over and then hit the heat wall completely on the last 2 to finish dble, bogey for a 4 over front nine. No change to the hcp, next round will be the Black Marker on Friday.

    Disppointment of the day was the very slow play. Over 2 & 1/2 hours for the front nine was very poor. We found the problem when we got to the 4th tee, a group three in front of ours was 3 holes behind! Even more disppointing as one of the players was a Director!! They got a hurray up from us as they past us coming back up the 5th and strangely seemed to suddenly find some speed over the last 4 holes. Still meant 2 & 1/4 hour second nine for 4 hrs 50m in 35 degree plus heat!. Thanks a lot Aholes!

    I played today. Nothing worthwhile to report. Move on.

    That is all.

    (Actually, not true. We were discussing why the round took so long, over lunch and a beer or two, and we found out that a guy ahead of us by a couple of groups had collapsed on course. He just happened to be playing with a doctor in his group, he rang the ProShop and they in turn rang an ambulance. We haven't heard anything else!)

    30 pts yesterday at Byron.

    Hit the driver great. Short game needs a lot of polish.
