so whats the latest gizmo for you lot that walk and carry?

i just started up carrying again for the first time since around 1990... on account of the fact that its easier then pushing a buggy through the bog.
Its actually not so bad if you take out 2 clubs and remove all the crap.

I use one of those containers that you get a car chamois in, and put it in the second drink holder of my bag.

The chamois containers do have a hole in the lid to let the air in to dry the chamois out. Nothing a bit of electrical tape doesn't fix though. I do get some spillage of sand in the car sometimes, but I try to remember to empty it out before leaving the course.

Anything like this with the large opening. A few bucks in a cheap shop/Kmart type should get it done.

I do that but drilled a hole sideways through the drinking nipple at the top. Large keyring and a dog lead type clip and I hang it off the bottom strap ring and it lays on outside of bag while I carry. Can still carry drinks in bottle sleeve that way

I don’t like the idea of it flopping around like that, does it get annoying?

I put it in the small front pocket.

Not really. I used to just clip the sand bucket on in the same spot so this is just the anti-spill version.

Have been doing this for years.. by far the best option i have found. You get pulled over for not having a bucket every now and then, but you can just point to the bottle.

Had some female bint say i wasnt carrying enough sand once - i did what any low marker knob would do and quoted my handicap and told her to piss off. Not one of my better moments but provided some entertainment to the playing partners.

The chamois container is interesting... less sand in the pockets...

Possibly could also remind the 'bint' that by walking your wear and tear impact on the course is negative so go pick on some other knob.

I once had a member write a letter to the committee complaining that I walked off the front of the tee block with my Sunday bag on my shoulders. Said I was damaging the course.

Fat **** took a cart everywhere and outweighed me by 20-30kg with my bag on my shoulders.

There's a course in Noosa, where the owner won't let you carry your bag, because in his opinion, people that carry don't fill divots. Also a bonus for him that there is revenue in pull cart hire.

People that don't fix their divots are the same ones who don't fix their pitch marks on greens. Probably all those cart riders who forget to fill the sand holder in their cart once it's used up.

And the same that don't rake bunkers properly then leave the rake with the head just near the entrance to the bunker.

What if you carry your bag and push a wheelbarrow full of sand?

I got the feeling that he would still make you take a cart. To him, the dodgy bag carrier could not be trusted to use the wheelbarrow of sand.

I got a vague recollection you might be carrying a grudge for this guy.
