Default NQ Matchplay Round 1 (2nd attempt): 16/12/12 Cairns GC 7:45am

    Shall we try again?

3rd Sunday is the 16th. Does this suit everyone? Venue is also up for discussion (note that I received an email from Paradise Palms saying that a 2013 Silver Membership can be had for no cost if a round is played in December - this could be the perfect opportunity).

Fairly sure I've got a Christmas party on that day.

I suspect that may well be the case for a few of us. Alternatively, we could go the Saturday, or the weekend before.

Mind you we're talking am aren't we. Most likely be ok depending on final choice of venue.

They're saying if you have a game at PP during December you get free Silver membership, which isn't quite true. From what I remember silver membership gave you a free game, a shirt and discounted green fees. So their claim that there is a saving of $220 is complete bullshit. Having said that I'mm going to take up the offer anyway. $55 for a game at PP is excellent value.
I'll be right for the 16th too.

There is potential to save a lot more than $220 just on green fees depending on how many times you play there. I'll be taking up the offer.

Sorry guys, but I have choir practice at the church that morning and then have to serve soup at the old peoples home before I go home and clean the house.
Hey, let's pop some Viagras and issue tickets with raging, mega-huge boners.

You are indeed correct, Captain Obvious.

Still, saying you save $220 is bunkum.

As will I. I might join twice and save $440.

If I join 4 times I'll save enough for a new set of golf clubs.

If you guys end up going on the Saturday, I might be able to get a leave pass to tag along.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

We are playing, but at this stage we have a full group. If that changes I'll let you know.

No, that's in a few weekends time (assuming there is enough interest). I never said that matches can't be played outside those group events, as not everyone will be able to make them all).

Default NQ Matchplay Round 1 (2nd attempt): 16/12/12?

I am so tempted to rock the belly putter for this competition so if I win I could have two asterisks against my name.
