Default LeftyHoges vs IanO at Kooringal on 25 November (Final of Vic Matchplay)

OK Vic Ozgolfers, if we are going to do this I need to know firm attendees. The Pro Shop has informed me that I am allowed 3 guests but that the Manager can approve for me to have some additionals. We can get off the Tee after between 12:00 and 1:00pm but I need to have solid numbers by COB Thursday this week.

Normal cost is $60 for the round but I believe I can get you on for $45 as a member's guest. Anyone who is a member of another club can enter the comp of the day (up to you)

Add your name if you are interested.

    Starters:
    IanO - Y
    LeftyHoges - ?
    Kev - ?

It was a great game that could have gone either way. If it wasn't for Lefty sinking every bloody putt inside 12' i would have won it easy! I can't complain as I have never had 3 birdies in one round before.

    Is there a trophy?

The choice of belt is questionable, Lefty. And I can't believe SMS has never heard of a ferret (in the golfing sense).

    Looks stylish.

But I bet Lefty got asked for more quotes to fit and balance new tyres than you did.

Actually I'd better jump in here before you all start congratulating Ian.

    The winner was.... Me!

A birdie (yes, another one, Ian and I had 8 between us) on the first playoff hole was enough to take home the choccies!

For those playing at home Ian finished with 35 points, an 85 off the stick, to my 39 points or 72 off the bat, yet we still finished all square through 18. Great golf all round.

Thanks Ian, was a pleasure playing with you and the course was magnificent.

Yes congrats Lefty! It was a great game but you deserved to win with excellent consistency and a red hot putter!

WEll done Ian - oops I mean Lefty!!! Sorry - who won???
Seriously - from the past Victorian Champion to the new one - A big Congrats. The queen is dead - long live the king!!!
Sorry we couldn't make it. Just a bit late in the year for us with lots of family commitments. Hopefully next year we will be there.

We statred the year well with getting the matches played but dropped off towards the end of the year. How about we try to plan dates in advance so we can get as many of the Vic together to play.

Lefty, your 39 points won you a ball!

My ntp won me some money (so not a total loss on the day)

You came close to winning A grade. Winning scores on the day:
    A Grade - 40 points ( hc 12 )
    B Grade - 44 points ( hc 15 )
    C Grade - 42 points ( hc 28 )

Good idea. We can campaign every one to join in. Then pick a date (or two) for each round and a host club. Maybe....

Good stuff, congrats on the NTP, that was a great shot and a great birdie. Keep the ball if you like Ian, a hosting prize for you!

Just out of curiosity, what prize do the winners get normally?

I was going to blame my brain fart double bogey on 8 for costing me the trophy but I think I more than made up for that with some of the putts that dropped!
