    Default 2013 NQ Matchplay

Scoring is 20 points for a win, 10 for a squared match, with a point per hole bonus (eg 2&1 is 3 points, 5&3 8 points).

Everyone plays everyone once. If we can agree on a suitable day, we'll get together roughly once a month to play as a group. Some have expressed that it may be difficult to get through so many matches in the required timeframe. If it looks to be an issue, Fireball matches could be a suitable solution.

    Proposed courses:
    Mossman GC
    Sea Temple CC
    Paradise Palms
    Half Moon Bay GC
    Cairns GC
    Gordonvale GC
    Mareeba GC
    Atherton GC
    Millaa Millaa GC

    Proposed match dates:
    November 18th
    December 16th (Cairns GC)
    January 13th (venue tbd)
    February 10th (venue tbd)
    March 10th (venue tbd)
    April 14th (venue tbd)
    May 12th (venue tbd)
    June 9th (venue tbd)
    July 7th (venue tbd)

The dates may be altered if it means we’ll get more players on the day.

The choice of venues for each round is open for discussion and should be based on course availability (corporate days etc.), course condition & weather forecast. Obviously the coastal courses should be avoided from December to March. If circumstances dictate it, I have no issues with playing some courses twice (eg. Mareeba) and skipping others (eg. Half Moon Ghey GC) due to weather/ course conditions.

No reason except I thought I didn't give the Cairns GC enough credit and gave all the others too much. I will be more careful next time 😀.
Hey, let's pop some Viagras and issue tickets with raging, mega-huge boners.

So, another year without NK means another year with a giant * beside it on the trophy. However that means another year when four or five people are genuine contenders.

Here’s the market for the rest of you NQankers. Get on it.

$1.20 - DC68. Always the bookies favorite. He’ll win this too.

$5.00 - Dcanto. Overhandicapped, underhaired and an accountant. Suspect short game stops him being up there beside DC. That and being toweled up in the last two finals. Should figure again.

$7.50 - haysey. Ozgolfs answer to an octopus falling out of a tree. If he’s timing it well, you’re in trouble. If he’s not, fore left. Overhandicapped according to my sources so he’s in with a chance.

$7.50 - Stuartmac75. First year in the competition. Be careful if you get a lead. He’s a prison guard so you know he likes to come from behind. Plays more golf than haysey.

$9.00 - Tomson. Flusher, but the imminent birth of two baby silverbacks may see these odds wound out quicker than Solarman gets out of his nighty when Courty comes a calling.

$10.00 - Courty. Needs to get rid of those three million swing thoughts swirling around his head. Hasn't been the same since Lefty stitched him up for best dressed at the champs. Don’t waste your money.

$12.00 - Outcast. Heaven help you if Captain Pugwash can hit four iron all day. Otherwise little to fear. Bring earplugs!!!

$15.00 - Julie. Tough to beat on her home track. Take Courty with you, she’ll be so distracted by the outfit she’ll have no chance.

$20.00 - Toots2711. Tall, very tall. Makes haysey look like a midget. Hamstrung by using a putter that looks like a VW engine block.

    $25.00 - Mike. Not Mike in 2009, 2010, 2011 or 2012. Won’t be Mike in 2013 either.

$500 - Solarman. Bahahahahahahahahahaha. ($1.50 for the Naga award. $5.00 to not score a point.)

Actually, I'll have a hungy on Haysey at $7.50. That's fantastic value!

I tried that at Millaa. Also had Mizuno iron covers on Cleveland irons. Neither tactic worked. Courty must have nerves of steel.

    hmm.

Not enough has been said about his approach on the 15th. That was special, you have to admit.

Which one was the 15th? Was that where my 1st tee shot vanished after hitting the tree?

I suspect the one where you drove the green. Lucky shot, Mike. It'll never happen again.

No no no no no. The hole where he lost his tee shot, yanked his third long and left and then hit that stupidly impossible shot over the trees to a coupla feet from the pin. I was thinking I'd go one up with three to play. Allof a sudden I'm one down instead.
