We usually get around under 3 hours at my course on a saturday as long as we don't get stuck behind the ladies.

We let the ladies play in the men's comp on Saturdays too. Can't imagine the stink if we tried to reverse that.

I got beaten for longest drive by a lady one week. She's a decent golfer but she did have at least a 50m head start from the reds.

I'm all for equal rights, but I have to pay for a seven day membership but can't play 7.
Told the manager at the club this once and he just gave me a blank stare.

Hilarious! Our men fields take far longer than the ladies. My other half needs to tee off at least 1/2 hour before me to finish at the same time.

Me not wanting women to play in Saturday has nothing to do with how long it takes to play, there's no doubt most women play quicker than most men

Id get around in under 3 hours if I didn't get stuck behind, octogenarian men, young blokes with pre shot routines that make 22yoJS look quick, general pfaffers, board members who think they own the place and punters who are constantly looking for a pot of gold or something else very important in their bags.

I'm massively supportive of women who pay full freight playing on Saturday at the expense of the knobs above.

They play there own comp there isn't a real lot of members at our course. Probably only about 4 groups of woman and they just about all tee off after one another.

Playing in comp yesterday,we were a group of 4 males, group in front was 4 males , group behind was 3 females one male , our group was made up of 9,11,12 n 30 caps , the group behind was right on our tail all day , we never lost touch with the group in front either so the ladies group was technically faster than both the male groups . I have played in mixed groups on saturdays and find it good . Once was with a lady who was pushing 80 and I struggled to keep up with her . So in my opinion if they pay the same as me they can play whatever day they like

I believe so , club runs comps on sat ,sun, tues, wed and thurs with them being open to everyone . However wed tends to be ladies and tues , thurs men .
Tee times are open to everyone but they run separate prize pools

Having women in men's groups is disgraceful. Do they allow Muslims on your course too?

Wont be long before the clubs need to put in prayer rooms either.
As long as the last green points to the carpark, I'm generally happy

I was going to say bar but I don't drink alcohol, have the odd coffee after a Saturday Round.
I still think carpark is better for me cause I just want to go home after the miserable performance.

We are so backwards in Australia! Here in the Czech Republic the comps are all mixed and the groups are mixed. When you sign up for a comp, unless you specify that you want to be partnered with someone in particular, the groups are lowest handicaps off first. If you choose you playing partner you play in the group at their handicap. One of the really nice things about golf here is that you see a lot of young couples playing so golf is growing here.

On slow play in particular, as the maximum handicap is 54, the expected time for 9 holes is 2 hr 20 min. But the marshal is out on the course monitoring play. If you drop behind you are told to speed up, pick up the ball if you cannot score, etc. You get a 2nd warning, 3rd warning and the entire group is removed from the course.
Golf is an ineffectual attempt to get an uncontrollable sphere into an inaccessible hole with instruments ill adapted to the purpose
