Default Official VIC champs thread - Feb 15-18, Melbourne

    Advance weather forecast here

Please double check the table in post#1 to make sure your accomm and golf details are right.

Thur, Fri, Sun accomm: andigolds Park View Hotel on St Kilda Rd. He's supplied us the very generous rate of $62.50 per person twin share, with option for people to room up as 4's for below $50 a head. An absolute steal to be so cheap so close to the CBD. No prepayment required, one person in each room to put up a credit card on check in & then just pay on checkout. 10 days before for final numbers is enough notice.

Sat accomm: Here. 15 people officially booked in for Sat accomm. $70 a head.

Fri golf: Southern GC. $60, carts are an extra $45, pull carts $5 hire. We have the last 5 groups booked from approximately 12:30 onwards. Should give interstaters arriving that morning a bit of time to get to the hotel, or straight to the club and have a quick meal or drink. Daylight no issue for any of these times as Daylight savings will be in full swing.

Sat golf: 6 tee times, 12:00PM onwards at St Andrews Beach. Cost will be $85 & includes cart or $69-50 without. Please note if you decide prior you don't want a cart but then want one on the day they will be $40.

Sun golf: Confirmed, 5 slots, 9:20AM to 10AM at Moonah Links Legends Course. Cost of $95 & includes cart.

Mon golf: Spring Valley GC - 7:56AM hitoff. Cost of $82.50, no cart.

So, a total of $200 for golf on Saturday & Sunday, with $20 going towards prizes. Or if you wish, please pay the full $342.50 for all four rounds golf, or the full payment for whatever rounds you are playing + $20 for prizes. Full payment preferred but instalments OK too. Final payment by 22nd Jan 2013.

    Meals / activities:

Thurs night: Had in Lime restaurant @ Parkview Hotel. Chicken was magnificent but the Lamb Wellington is still my choice here.

Fri night: BBQ and salad had. Some regurgitated. Andy has provided a conference room for "activities". They will be good fun and include the all important BYO alcohol (which some should steer clear of next year!).

Sat night: BBQ at St Andrews Beach Golf Club. Drinks must be purchased from the club but we can bring whatever else we like. FG can get hold of some meat (stop sniggering you lot!) and salads. Need to know final numbers a week or so before. Probably around $10 a head to cover costs.

Sun night: Was the awesome idea of Chinatown with beers @ Young & Jacksons hotel.

It's not lame I was expecting a much harder course...

As I said if I welling good all for comps if its a must add it to the fees.

Ps it would have been nice to have that score on golflink for bragging rights. That round would not make a huge different to my hcp anyway

It's as lame as Benno not wanting to shake hands with anyone because he might get urine on them.

    But you weren't alone.

What flagged round would have dropped off Pete? You must have a good one sitting in your 20th round to drop off.

Entering the daily competition was not a condition of entry for VIC champs and never will be unless its forced upon us by the course of the day.

End of discussion for me. The guy who played best on Saturday & Sunday took home the choccies which were thoroughly deserved.

On a side note, next years champs days will be Friday & Monday. I shit those in!

Pete was the man, end Of story. He played 3 great days of golf in a row which is pretty tough for most ozgolfers let alone one with only one good leg Mario your awesome so let's move on from this subject mate.

It isn't trolling at all Iain. And once again, what I am proposing would have had zero bearing on the result. What it would do is make handicaps more current.

Sure SMS. Why do you have a vested interest in making people's handicaps more current as you say?

    Effort to change topic:

If anyone was interested in today's results we had a very trying day in low to mid 30* temperatures and a hot, tip smell magnifying 40 km/h northerly wind.

Only 3 OZgolfers broke 30 points. I won't name names to protect people's dignities.

I certainly have an interest in having people's handicaps more current, as it's put here.

It had no bearing on the result. Absolutely none. Thats not what is being said at all. I congratulated Peter_RS on his win on the course. I applauded his good shots and said so when he hit them, as I did you Iain.

What is being said is that maybe it might have a bearing on the next game. And if there is another $100 up for grabs for the winner, then, as I said, I have an interest there in making sure handicaps are what they should be.

You played well Iain. You lost a shot for your round on Sunday. Well done. My handicap went from 7.2 to 6.6. Why shouldn't the other guys who played be handicapped, whether they played well or not?

I'm not picking on anyone. Go back and read my posts. But when Pete jumped in I said it was a lame excuse and I stand by it. In fact I toned it down from pathetic excuse. Muldudes excuse holds a lot more water.

I find it funny that the top 3 Ozgolfers on Sunday were not in the comp. I think it's hilarious that one of them went in the comp on Saturday, played crap and not Sunday when he played great.

On the other side of things, yep, it's a social golf day. I've been to 4 champs now ... The previous winners were Nudgee, Ferrins and Shadesy. They have all copped it from everyone about being well handicapped. Is the 4th a protected species?

Lefty ... you can change the subject again if you like. Sorry ... but I had to respond.
