Bingo. I'm not letting mine go for cheap. I know that there are people who will pay $550-$600 for it. That's what it will sell for, that's what I'll be accepting.

32Gb 4S refurb at ebGames for $488 when in stock at the moment.

I'm guessing that price will come down a bit a few weeks after the 5 comes out.

If you start out depressed everything’s kind of a pleasant surprise.

Sell the OCT 620 CALL and buy the OCT 640 CALL... risk about $1000 to make $3000 on a close below $620. Breakeven about $635 or thereabouts.

When do Seppo options settle? Last Thursdays like Aussie ones? Coz you've got a lot of ground for it to drop back at the moment. Not that I disagree with your position, but I'm wondering if an October call is a bit too short for the "OMG NEW IPHONE, I'LL TAKE SEVEN!!!1!!1!!!!" phenomenon to wear off. Especially considering how apple tend to trickle feed new models to the public to extend the hysteria.

I was saying you were on the money.
In the same way the 4 missed out on things with the 4s, it will miss out more on the 5's release.

I ended up changing to a January 13 option. The cost was the same and whilst the return was only 2 to one - i wanted the market to work out that IOS6 was the upgrade and not the phone.

Also Microsoft have the new Surface tablet which looks dead set amazing on the enterprise front. DELL, HP and Sony will also have Win8 tablets at a lower price point and Nokia have the new Win8 phones.

The iPad is good for mums and dads at home, but what Apple has done with iCloud and linking devices for the home... Microsoft and all their mates can do the same with the Win8 tablets and business applications. A tablet with MS Office on it and a proper version of Outlook and network connectivity and print drivers and all the other useful things will have company's wetting themselves.

Anyone out there who still thinks the Apple iDevices are any good inside a company environment for anything other than email is absolutley kidding themselves. You still cant print out a network document with the bloody thing. Your only option is to run RDC on it.

I reckon the two losers in this batch is Apple and Intel... I think Android will start to really dominate the phone front due to pricepoint and the open source platform. The real interesting bit is who Google will hitch their wagon up to. Andriod is also useless on an enterprise front, so whether they stick with punters or go enterprise or a mish mash of both will be the big question...

Apple stopped taking pre-orders in the US within 8 hours of the launch, burning through all their allocated stock.

Say what you want Fandroids, but people WANT this phone.

Why? Because after 4 product launches, they are still incapable of producing sufficient stock to meet predicted demand? Apple do the same thing every time. Make their product look more in demand by deliberately trickle feeding it out to the public.

An effective way of extending the hype? Yes. Proof that their product is more in demand than its competitors? Hardly.

It is also a great way of stopping eBay being clogged with the phones. Trickle them out keeps teh eBay price high and the demand also there - also keeps it in the news.

By Novemeber though - they will be everywhere and available same day.

It just blows me away that the public is so accepting of a company deliberately delaying the supply of a product for no other reason than because they want to.

"sorry Sir, we're going to delay your big mac another 10 minutes so that our business looks more popular"

I thought that this thread was for people who like Apple products? The short response to this dick-waving contest is that there is no 'best' device and you need to find the one that meets your needs.

I'm due an upgrade and have been waiting for the 5 (considering it and the S3). It's a shame that the S3 feels a bit like a kids toy, as the functionality is pretty cool. Apple products meet my criteria of simplicity and ease of use, so leaning that way at the moment.

It isnt dick waving - it is true comment and opinions on Apple Products, both good and bad.

Shall we move on to the defensive nature of Apple product owners...

So far so good on iOS 6. Safari seems to be a lot faster.

Does the extra Maps & Siri functionality work in Australia, or is it US only?

Yes. Australia is part of Siri's upgrades.

Maps will do turn by turn but not flyovers here.

Both features need 4S and above.
