Can anyone answer me this. I am on a great contract with Telstra with my Iphone and will be out of contract next month. I need/want to upgrade to an Iphone 5 9 Have had trouble with old Iphone 4 due to it getting wet a few times - but I want to keep on my old plan. Happy to buy a phone outright. Will I be able to keep my old cheap plan?

Don't see why not, would just be an outright purchase and then a change of the sim...

My Telstra mobile contract expires this month as well. I already have my new 'phone (S2), bought outright. My expectation is that if I do nothing, Telstra will move me onto their current casual contract. I don't think they will let old plans roll on, but will be happy to be proved wrong. I have received nothing in writing from them so far, which I find interesting.

What is the plan you are on FG?

As long as Telstra will issue a Nano Sim to replace her current micro one.

My plan is $39 per month - includes all the data and calls that I need - not a big use - and the $39 includes paying off the phone. Have all my services with Telstra so this gave me a $10 per month discount and the data allowance was doubled. A very good deal!!

I went and put in my pre-order last night too. Rang telstra yesterday and to pay out my 4S contract is only $360 so can sell my 4S for $550-$600, make a tidy little profit and get the new iPhone. Pretty sure thats the complete definition of win-win.

Previously Telstra have just kept the plan going, less the handset repayments. Of course history should not be taken as an indicator of future intent.

I was on a similar plan with Telstra but when i upgraded the phone i couldn't stay on the same plan because they didn't exist anymore.
I had to sign up for a different plan.

Yep, but if you buy outright, you can stay on the same plan.

as if any of the iphone heros will let it go for cheap. You are better off just buying a new one for $680, use a gold/platinum credit card for 2 yrs warranty. Probably cost you $100 more than a dinged up used one with no warranty.
