Default Gavin Simms Memorial Cup 2012 - Prize Thread

    Hi All

$25 is required from each Participant for the Prizes for the GSM - WA Champs. A breakdown of each of the Prizes can be seen here:

    OZGolf Champs 2012 (Prizes).jpg

All Participants Paid. Thanks very Much.

Participant cannot win a Nett Prize and the Gross Prize. The Prize of the Greater Amount will be handed to anyone who wins both a Gross and Nett Prize.

    GAVIN SIMMS MEMORIAL CUP

It has been decided that in order to win the GSM Cup you must have a 100 post minimum.
Prize Money is open to all 28 entrants still.

The GSM is special to us WAnkers who contribute to OZGolf and in remembrance to a brother of a good friend of mine and most on here.

As Tommy has shown the bragging rights should spread often, and the forum and fun is better for those contributing.

Those who want to win the Cup have 65 days to reach 100 posts (under 2 posts a day) or just enjoy the banter, have a few beers and hopefully join in the OG Community.

Any grievances, I'll point you in the right Direction.
If the Nett winner (GSM Cup) is from across the border they will by all means be declared the winner and have photos and name engraved on the trophy, but please understand for logistical reasons the cup will remain in WA. Think of it like the Ashes and the English holding onto it.

So if a low marker plays better than his handicap for the two days he can't win Best Gross and Best Nett? Why not?

One is for score and the other is based on how you play to 'cap...they shouldn't be mutually exclusive, surely.

What's on the line for my favourite events (NAGA, most putts, biggest dummy spit etc)?

I'm interested in TF thoughts on winning multiples of these prizes...something that is much more likely than him sharking best gross and best nett!

Good work Shadesy looks the goods.

don't worry about fit, his head will be in the cooking game all day saturday trying to figure out if he should use the oregano or not and then sunday he'll have the shits from what he served himself.

    On a serious note...

I have decided to 'donate' a set of 10 TourFit Forged Irons (they are Japanese forged BTW). It can be either of these models in the full 10 club set...

    IMG_0968.jpgIMG_0972.jpg

...or a mixed combo set of 3-6 cav and 7-PW blade. They will come with any of my TourFit Steel shafts and standard TourFit grips + my labour to build them to spec.

These will be auctioned in the ProShop as of tonight/tomorrow, and the winning bid will be whatever it is at Thurs midnight BEFORE Champs.

ALL proceeds of the winning bid will be forwarded to simmsy to donate to Lifeline in the Simms family name, in memory of Gav.

PS: I retail these at around $90/club. They are REAL quality...but obviously that is not what I expect to get for them in this case, as it is a donation to charity. And, I think, a worthwhile and pertinent charity for our WA Champs.

Seems to be the norm at most clubs.
