Indeed. I used to lament that it wasn't one show recorded however the tracks as a collection are great.

    Live from Mars is cool.

Glory and Consequence is a brilliant song, and Mama's Got a Girlfriend, Excuse Me Mr... it was the first thing my missus ever bought me.

I am really enjoying Broken Bells.

You have done well Bruce. I am very proud.

Life From Mars is pretty sweet. Harper lost the magic not long after that.

Broken Bells is also pretty great Scottt. I am really liking it too.

Went and saw Dirty Projectors at the Rosemount last night. Great show. NOT what I was expecting. They are pretty heavy live, which is not what you expect from their CDs. However, it was brilliant. They work together so well as a band. The album makes a lot more "sense" after seeing them live.

It occurred to me yesterday that for someone who is about as big a fanboy of The Shins as it is possible to be, I didn't really like any of their albums the first time I listened to them.

Kind of had the same experience with Broken Bells, but now having had 2-3 listens it is sounding awesome!

The Mall & Misery is awesome (but always makes me think of Robyn on How I Met Your Mother having a teen hit with that "Let's All Go To The Mall" song).

Got The Vasco Era's "Lucille" today - excellent album. Second best Oz album of the year thus far (it is no Eddy Cuz...).

I haven't actually heard any of their new stuff, I caught them, the vasco era that is, live once and was blown away. What is it like in relation to the first album?

A touch of nostalgia has me listening to Trip Shakespeare again.

That's awfully catchy. I could see myself buying the album.

AndyP, I can't remember where we discussed it, perhaps in the CD swap thread, but after some investigation, I have to disagree with you.

Alphabetical is easily the worst Phoenix album I have, WAP and It's Never Been Like That are much better. However, it doesn't surprise me that it is your favourite.

I have been enjoying revisiting the Elbow discography.. A few songs are insanely good. At the moment I am loving Mirrorball and The Stops.

I think I stated "Alphabetical > WAP" here, then mentioned it again in the swappy thread. Thanks for following up.

WAP and Alphabetical are the only two I have at this stage. I didn't like WAP at first, but it does slowly grow on you. But if it takes this long for an album to be liked, it's not worth it.

I'd appreciate a Courty comment on this.

I love albums that grow on you.

However, I would say INBLT fits somewhere in the middle. You would like it.

So Dave, is it worthwhile 'acquiring' the new Slash album or not ?

I may be a little biased, but yeah it's worth acquiring.

The album is filled with big names as lead singers including Iggy Popp & Ozzy Osborne to name a few.

Ok, i'll take a look at it.

I was always a little partial to Slash when he was grinding it out with the gunners in the early days

No, bad timing for me with the new business opening, everything has been on hold in life.

A good mate went, and bloody loved it. He has a recording of the show I will grab off him.
