Ok...........I know this is so old - but at the moment I'm playing the CD soundtrack of "Beyond the Sea". It's the life story of Bobby Darrin sung by Keven Spacey. The movie was top rate - the CD is a bit daggy - but I like daggy.
I promise I'll play something from this decade next.

Now that I have an Ipod, there isn't really any specific music I am listening to, but some of my newly acquired stuff includes Wolfmother, Eskimo Joe, Scissor Sisters and Sneaky Sound System.

It's a bit of a mixed bag, but I'm not sure how many I have actually heard, as there's just so much music.

If the Femmes weren't part of your teen upbringing then I can understand your angst. It might also explain that mashy crap stuff you listen to!

    Memories of the femmes.

Had a rich mate in first year of uni. His dad bought him a house in toowoomba when he didn't get into one of the colleges. It was near an all girl catholic school (St Ursula's for those in the know). He used to drive a 1960's Austin Sprite convertable. Anyway, every lunchtime we could we'd go screaming around the corner and past the oval where all the school girls and nun's would be having lunch. Top down and the third verse of the Femme's "Add It Up" (surely you all remember the song) blasting from the tape deck. Remembering it was the late 80's, and man that was fun. Used to get a great mix of good and bad looks those days.

"why can't I get, just one kiss, why can't I get just one kiss etc etc" first verse. 3rd verse is "why can't I get, just one F... , why can't I get jsut one F... etc etc".

And luckily while I lived in toowoomba I never reached bevan-hood, vehicular or otherwise. I was a wanna-be skeg in those days. My mate was from the coast. Long hair and all flowing back in the breeze as we drove by. You remember those days don't ya jarro? You know!

I too remember the Femmes from my Uni days, although it was mostly the long-haired feral alternative types listening to them. I was usually too busy at basketball training...

Found an amazingly good mashup called 'Rock In Black' which combines AC/DC, Queen & Crowded House among others. Anyone who went to Robbie Williams may remember hearing it before Sneaky Sound System came on.
