Not a ball shank, a sad story instead...

My mate put his driver down to check my alignment then said go for it on the driving range... I came down hard from the inside and clipped his driver head with my hozel. Both his Mizzy Driver and my Ping were obliterated.

If one of them went 45 degrees to the intended line, then we have a winner!

    Default Shanks by OZgolfers

    Bump x2

#1 was off a straight forward simple chip shot on the 4th hole. Shot off hard right along the ground and stayed on the front of the green. I was LHS around mid distance and pin was back right. 3 stabbed to add salt & vinegar to the open wound.

#2 was after slotting a monster drive on the par 5 16th leaving 165m in. This was a power shank 7iron that had OB written all over it until it was stopped by a large GUR mound of dirt. Another 3 stab followed after puting the next on.

    Anyone sense a theme here?

Hit something strange on the 7th today, put it down to a shank even though there was no tell-tale sign. About 60m from the green, going for a chip and run, tried to baby it and off it went at 45* across the fairway

Hit a screamer 3 iron down the first yesterday had 100 left , try to take a little off the 52 and 30 degrees to the right with clear dimple marks on the hosel , right behind a tree with 40 meters to go and plugged in the hard red sand what a way to make a double

At 45* is a dead give away of a hosel rocket.

Reverse shank today with a 3 wood.
Inside heel - so close to the hosel that it has to count.

170-something metre par 3 17th yesterday. 5 iron in hand. Power hosel into the right trees. Found it & chipped out. Up & down from 40m for a 4/2.

    A hosel and a jug!

    That takes talent (or something).

I haven't posted in here for a while, but today's was a doozy.

I needed a hole in one on our 117m par 3 17th today to banish the memory of a bad round, and the breeze just freshened a touch, so I needed just a touch of extra power on my 8 iron. Not only did the stroke find hosel, it was bottom of hosel. so about 50m of total distance at the angle of shame. I didn't laugh.

Quality hosel fade off the 13th at Toukley. 150m to the pin nice smooth 8 iron hosel rocket into the large pond that guards the whole right side of the hole.
