Need to book in after Sunday.
14th hole 125m Par 3. 45 deg right and into a tree.
From memory I think it was the same hole, same tree.

Once you go yellow, you will never go back
Me again, 30m pitch on the last hole, 45 deg right just short of the hazard.
Once you go yellow, you will never go back
my opponent today on 5 th hole , shanked his second shot low at 45 degs across the fairway and very nearly cleaned me up , if i hadn't been watching it would have . Some guys will try anything to win matchplay.
I couldn't see a hosel on my 5wood but the shot shape would suggest it does have one
16th hole at Yarrawonga Murray.

Checking in for today at Snowtown
190m par 3. Miss hit tee shot 20m short.
Easy chip and run with 7iron. Hosel off at 45 degrees to set up consecutive doubles.
Glorious drive on the first at NH today. Over the corner, my ball was sitting pretty in the middle of the fairway about 80m from the green. Bit of a tail wind so I thought I'd pop it up with a 52deg wedge. Nope, hozzle rocket exit stage right to the base of the only bush within cooee.
Four shanks at LK today. Started on the first with a nice drive short of the left green side bunker. Thought I play a nice soft lob over the bunker, no hard right hosel rocket! Two others were easy short chips and the last was again trying to flop over s bunker from the rough right of 17
Managed one during the Magenta round today. It was a 4 iron off the tee on a short par 4 but I can't remember which one. Maybe the 5th? It was super! Lead to my third double on the trot!
My usual course has been going through renovations, so we are playing a temporary 18. The current 12th hole is a 120m par 3. 4 of my last 6 tee shots there have been shanks, and those are the only 4 shanks I have hit in months! Can't wait for the whole course to re-open so I don't need to play this hole as a par 3 again!

2nd shot club champs
Almost got hit in the head by a shank today. Playing partner pulls his tee shot into the adjacent fairway. Myself and another player are waiting on our fairway at about 70 degrees from the other guy when a ball comes flying through the trees straight over my head!
I found myself in a bunker for my approach to the ninth green at Jindalee this morning. The rakes had been left inside the edge of the bunker instead of the middle, so my ball was resting against it. This meant my feet had to be outside of the bunker and well above the ball. I knew while standing over it that my weight was too far forward, but I couldn't be bothered correcting. The result was a pure hosel shot low, 30m right and about 90m forward into a neighbouring residence's Stratco fence with a loud bang. The rebound gave me a clear line to the flag, but my short game wasn't good enough for the up and down, so I took a fortunate bogey.
Here is the GameGolf tracking of the shot: https://www.gamegolf.com/player/Andy...le_id=28115436
Playing the 9th today had a full swing on an 8 iron that went about wedge distance due to the wind holding it up and also blowing it sideways into the water. Got to 10 with the red mist circling, took anger out with a crushing drive to leave about 100 in, decided I'd try and play a punch shot 9 iron under the wind after the last hole. Mananged the under the wind part fine, shame it came off the hosel and went straight in the dam though at 45 degrees.
I made a horrible swing for my second shot on 16 today. I was all crossed up & came OTT and the ball spat out about 10 degrees right of intended target. I can't be 100% sure but there may have been a little hosel action there.
Is it still a shank if it goes 45 degrees left ? If so had one with a PW for my second shot on the first yesterday
Funnily enough my playing partners thought I had played safe under the trees back on fairway but no I was trying to launch it over the trees , must have just missed my front leg the angle it went left on
Threw in a shank today just make a bad hole really bad
One unconfirmed.
Playing in 50 km/h winds yesterday, I tried to laze in a little 3 iron from 140. Came out maybe 10-15° from intended line, and had the hint of just the ever so slightest glance of hosel, but I can't really be sure, because if I don't concentrate on shutting the face on long irons when I swing easy, that's where they go anyway.

Mini shanks still deserve a spot in this thread. Not quite as funny but still a shank.
