The Captain of my golf club, familiar with many on this forum, had a good case the other day. The 3rd hole he found water 80m right and short of the green with his 5 iron, then on the 14th, his two swings ended up 30* right and wet/lost for a wipe.

It was truly spectacular, and I laughed.

The karma bus ran me down as my 60 metre pitch to the green came off the hosel and finished 20m long and right....

I'm getting my average shank count round under 1 now, with a break on Tuesday, but another one today. Bunker hosel this time, so that's probably the last six that have been completely different situations. I think I have ran out of ways to keep the variety in my shanks now.

Dammit! Another one today. 20m bunker shot required. Ended up hitting 40m off the hosel and into a water hazard. I struggled to find the funny side of that one.

Oh Yes. Hand up for me.
Hybrid on the 5th. Inside of the hosel. No where near the face. 45 degree left into the thick crap.
Quite funny as I ended sitting on top of DMG's ball as he buried himself under the same tuft of long grass.

Checking in. Two painful ones, both from 30 metres out, and both right off the hosel and straight along the ground.

I didn't feel anything wrong either time, no lunge forward with the shoulders, no leaving of the clubface too far open, no casting from the top of the backswing, no cover drive action with the wrists too far forward. i don't know what I did wrong.

Back to back beauties on the 10th with 9I and wedge attempted approaches.

Why not chuck in a chipping shank on 16 when trying to get up and down for par to keep your score respectable.

Three in a round, to make five in the last two. A pitch with a wedge into a hazard helping to turn a birdie chance into a triple bogey, plus a four iron approach from the "fairway" resulting in a double, then a greenside chip shank for the third. There must be something wrong with my clubs.

    Q. Is it still a Hosel Rocket if the simulator doesn’t detect any shot?
If the answer is Yes the count is 8.
If the answer is No the count is 1.
My Pitching Wedge has a serious problem with simulation golf off mats from the 70-40m range.

Thanks for the posts, guys, so didn't want to have three lists in a row.
Another two today, and both were pitch shots. I don't
Think either even glanced the face of the club, and probably went at 80 degrees to target.

Another two today, and I probably didn't bother reporting whatever I had in the last round. I'm a bit over it to be honest.

Total of 8 shanks yesterday but started with 6 in a row ( when I had an iron full shot in hand). A great welcome back to golf I'm eager to see what Wednesday has in store for me.

26th hole at Royal Canberra, 165m par three.

Was a ripper of a hosel rocket too. Followed it up with a pathetic pitch to 30ft then drained the putt.

12th hole of the day Long par 3 third. High pushed 3 wood left a flop shot over the bunker to a tight cut pin.
Lie was perfect for the shot. Opened the blade of the 54 to cut it up a but more. Big piece of hosel straight into the wall of the back bunker. Very difficult bunker shot to a green running away to the front resulted in it running a long way off the green and a wipe.
In my defence there was a photo shoot going on the other side of the fence in the scrub land with a very tidy looking girl. I’m going to blame the distraction not my LOFT problem.

    Default Shanks by OZgolfers

    6th hole at Mount Compass
Off the back blocks failed to carry the hazard twice into the strong wind.
Dropped a ball near the 150m. Power shanked 5iron into a fairway bunker. Went bunker to bunker and eventually holed out for an 11.

Well i'm not proud of this one, but it was pretty spectacular....

On Wednesday nights, a couple of mates and I go for a practice session at Royal Wembley range, with beers and dinner after ...

    I set the following record:

In 95 balls, I had 22 shanks, including 10 in a row. The boys couldnt believe the 10 (neither could i) but ****en 10 for goodness sake ... and yes by 3 we were laughing a lot ...

    I like the second one.

I haven't shanked since I last played with AndyLo, which I'm doing again tomorrow......

I wouldn't normally post in here, but I did hit a quality one today. Pretty much had no shot, so tried to hit a high wedge through a gap that wasn't really there. This shot didn't hit trees or anything, it was all hosel.

Had a cracking one Wednesday. Tried to hit a 5i too hard and shanked it. Found it in a water puddle, took a drag for casual water and hit a low running 6i onto the green. Sunk the 15footer for an easy par!!Screenshot_20210624-194400_Garmin Golf.jpg
