I shanked a 2 iron at Oxley going for a par 5 playing with Eag's, AP and Rusty (?). Quality length and trajectory too.
    Forum needs more banter.

Oh yes, that reminds me, I shanked one out of a bunker against mint at Spring Valley in our match play game about two months ago in front of Firey, Andigold, Spanner, Bruce and Flowergirl. I'm sure a few of them had to move rather quickly to stay safe.

Then proceeded to play the flop shot of a lifetime into the hole to break poor mints heart.

Agree that Hocko's was fantastic, being in the final group, with the gallery. 1m forward, 50m right, splash.

Plenty of whispering and chuckling, but in general, everyone was afraid to say anything because a wedge might have been thrown at them.

I had never hit a shank in a comp until the Hocko pro am.

Nice massage from the massage lady as we waited on the tee. Get out of the chair, 9 iron in hand, blammo, straight right.

That led to 3 more comp shanks in the next month. Hocko passed on the juju.

Fit's consecutive shanks to close 16,17 and 18 are pretty special too.

I had a very severe case if the shanks with my Titleist DCI 990 pitching wedge a few years back. They arrived just in time for the Holden Scramble regional final.

    Awesome.

Practice nets give you very quick feedback on a shank as I found out many times today. Clang!

Eags, champs at Palmie on the short par 4 with water right. Classic stuff. Almost cleared the water.

I have only ever shanked twice before today. Then I had 2 consecutive shanks on the same hole. Terrible feeling

    Here goes.

I he to Shell Cove after a rough bit of travel and end up in a bit of a blue with the shop staff about letting me off the 10th. They tell me I can't because there's a group coming through 9. That group was only playing 9 and in the mean time some other bloke has teed off on 10 with 3 balls and someone else has taken my slot on 1. Eventually I think **** it and go over to ten expecting to get in the shit for it.

I pull my new fli hi for the first hit and whammo. A dirty big Sherman into the boonge. Not a wedge shank but a nice 3 iron one. I quickly pull another pill, put it on the fringe and walk away with only a quick glance at where the ball may have finished.

All I could think of was this thread.

A sophisticated shanking machine, sent back in time for the pleasure of one lucky sand iron?

Aye Carumba, glad we missed out on the massage. I think the old duck put a curse on ya mate! Couple of Hail Mary's and an Our Father and you'll be right.
