    Default Week commencing 3 October 2005

    I've always wanted to start one of these, and courtesy of public holiday in NSW today, now I can.

    32 points at Camden Valley, with Jono and Spiersy.

    Stats don't look too bad, but my game fell apart in the middle of the round, with a sequence of double, bogey, triple, bogey destroying the score.

    Fairways = 8 of 14
    GIR = 10 of 18
    Putts = 34, one three-putt, one birdie
    Up and Down = 2 of 3
    Sand Saves = 0 of 2
    2 penalty shots.

    More details of the game will appear in my Camden Valley thread in 1st tee.

    Second consecutive round with a pair of 39's for a 78 (+6). Did it a little differently today, with 3 double bogeys, 2 bogeys, and 2 birdies. 2 of the doubles coming from wedge approaches from the fairway. Not good.

    Ain't that the truth.... i actually did the 'nana a bit today, which I am not proud of .... no club chucking or anything, but more than my share of expletive deletives, and whacking of the clubhead on the ground. No more of that chit for me.

    Default round

    theres nothing more frustrating than hitting a wedge inside 130m going into a bunker, water or rough. and if it goes into a bunker it plugs thats the ultimate in your face punishment.

    76 off the stick in the Nudgee club champs....would have been a good score if did'nt have 85 the previous day.
    So if I go through to the next round it will be a minor miracle,nice to break 80 though with 3 birdies.

    October 1: Kyogle GC Medal. Nett 79

    Just an ordinary day of crap golf. Took 10c of JD which was worth the admission price. Hot... very very hot in Kyogle.

    Oct 2: Bottom 10 at Casino

    No train wrecks, still getting the driver out there. Square with the card and par'd/birdie'd the 18th (GIR, and 2 goes at the monster putt). Nearly had my brain pecked by the magie on the 8th.

    Oct 3: Medley Stableford

    34 points - 1 wipe... last friggin' hole Knifed a 5w from a filled divot OB to the right of the green. Other than that, solid golf all day. Made some clutch putts and irons were good. Damn hot - too hot for the territorial magpies to bombard us (3 of them on the course)

    Scared the bejeezus outta me. Wasn't expecting it, and got the customary 'click-click' of the beak right next to my ear. Quickly armed myself with a 9-iron for any subsequent strike.

    We had the first two rounds of our Club Champs this weekend (4 rounds of stroke in total).

    Shot 76 and 76 which I am pretty pleased with. The second round included 7 over on the front nine and 2 under on the back .

    Waiting for the results on the club web page but I would say between 3rd and 6th. A couple of our very good players missed the champs as the Riversdale (or something like that) Cup is on which is one of the big amatuer tournaments.

    How's this for the thing that turned the round? Played the 8th hole (168 metres of pure water carry) and drowned the first ball. Changed gloves (had been wearing a new one that just didn't feel right -went back to an oldie). Third shot (inc penalty) to 3 feet for a tap in bogie (second ball birdie). From there on was 2 under for the next 10 (and 3 under for 11 if you include the second ball birdie). Stupid game!

    Played Carnarvon this morning with no luck, it was one of those days, where nothing went in the hole, if it was offline it would hit a tree solid as and stop dead. I had about 10 putts stop on the lip or loop through and come back at me!

    Shot 25 points 5 wipes destroyed any chance of a good score.

    Got frustrated and my swing fell apart. Not transfering weight to front foot causing massive cuts. Hopefully that is the bad round that I had to have.

    Back to work tomorrow so no golf till next Tuesday.

    Scooted round Westgate today with the wife's boss and one of her co-workers. Form was ominous for FG

    43 (par is 33). Only went round the once as my partners have work to do.
    Mostly good but did include a 4 putt triple and a 1 putt triple on consecutive holes.

    Might go out again this afternoon

    Went around to Royal Altona Lakes on my own and thought I was cursed when I ended up behind 2 groups of 4 hacking kids.

    But really it was lucky as I ended up having a great practice round. "Ball 1" went round in 5 over for 40 with 17 putts. I can only claim an unofficial PB on that due to all the other practice shots I played while I was out there. At one point things got so backed up I walked back 80m and played 8 wedges in.

    Hope I can keep the driver rythym going for Friday.
