    Default MOORE CLOSING IN:

I think this guy is going to be good Check out the statement in the last line....big deal if he makes it happen

Ryan Moore was running out exemptions. Now he's closing in on a TOUR card.

The former U.S. Amateur champion showed all it takes is a few good weeks to avoid q-school. He tied for second in the Bell Canadian Open, then tied for 17th at the 84 LUMBER Classic. That pushed his earnings to $512,900, allowing him unlimited exemptions the rest of the year.

Moore is playing this week in the Valero Texas Open, his seventh start since turning pro. His money is equivalent to No. 123 on the PGA TOUR money list, and he only has to finish equal to 125th or better at the end of the year to earn exempt status next year. The last American to earn his PGA TOUR card without ever going to Q-school was Tiger Woods.

A bit off topic but I'm working on getting my shoulder plane looking like his at impact.
Mine has been too flat for a long time...great for woods but bad for irons.
Ryan Moore had a freakish amatuer career and has signed with Oakley for clothes and Ping for clubs.....bastard.

He is going to be a serious player. Look for him to contend in Majors early in his career. Beautiful iron player, and has a great attitude (it seems, anyway).

Ryan Moore tied for 34th in Greensboro and made $24,714. That gives him $545,716, equivalent to No. 126 on the money list. Moore's earnings at the end of the year have to be at least equal to No. 125 on the money list for him to earn his PGA Tour card. ...

    • Ryan Moore fired a 4-under 68 to finish in a tie for 14th and collect $88,000 on Sunday in Lake Buena Vista. He increases his non-member season earnings to a total of $686,649, good enough to secure his card for the 2006 season under category 21 -- Players who earn more than the 125th place finisher on 2005 PGA TOUR money list as non-members. With two full-field events remaining in the season the 125th player on the money list is Rocco Mediate, with $582,179. In 2004, the 125th player on the money list made a total of $623,262.
