    Default Sunglasses

I have finally managed to get a set of contact lenses that I can comfortably wear and am in the market for some new sunnies.

I don't want to drop too much coin on a pair, due to past mishaps.

What lens colour have people had the most success with? I would like a pair that I wouldn't have to remove to hit shots/putts, if possible.

I have read a few conflicting reports online, so help me out OzGolf.

I think beer glasses make every thing look better.

Tourfit has to wear one's that match his undies , well thats what Yoss said.

    Good luck with the contacts.

    Cheers,

Thanks for the comment Phil...see ya next year!

I think that the Sundog's are pretty good value for money JC. I have 3 pairs of Adidas and 2 pair of Oakleys, and the 'Dogs are OK at a third of the dorras.

Some of the Sundogs come with multi lenses...I have a set with Silver/Green Iridium, Orange (best in low light or overcast) and Brown Iridium (best when REALLY bright).

Try as many different lenses as you can to get a sense of what is comfortable to YOUR eyes.

(Coke bottles for yours I'm sure)

Check out erudy.com.au - Rudy Project sunglasses that are just awesome! I have 5 pairs with lenses in smoky grey, yellow/orange, blue/green and my favourite, photochromic (change tint with light level like the Transitions lenses). They can be big bucks, but they are lightweight and have interchangeable lenses that are polycarbon and near unbreakable so they protect if you ever got hit with a ball - do not get glass lenses!!

Best colour lenses would be a darker (grey/green) for bright sunny days, an orange/yellow for low light days or the photochromic ones for changeable cloudy/sunny days.

Check out the Sale Store (top right on the website) as they often flog off (no homo) non current models for really good prices - order online and they arrive in a few days. Right now they have a cool model called Syluro on sale that is usually $329-$399 for less than $100!

I use sun dog they are good but cheap enough if you drop them on the road or they get pulled off your hat in trees it's not a big deal.

It's personal taste but I perfer a frame less lower edge as it is less distracting while putting.

The Mela lens are cool and they work for all light conditions.

Mitre10. Bolle safety glasses. $20. But they still say bolle on the side. Work for me. Cheap enough to replace every year or so.

If you want outstanding quality and unbraekable lens check out Rudy Project

    I have the Rydon Photochromatic
Use them for cycling and golf.
One lens, all light conditions, outstanding!
I was an Oakley M Frame guy with prescription lenses but they have been giving me headaches ( possibly my script has changed?)

I wear contacts as well for distance. I have had my Oakley Flak Jackets with G20 golf lens for a couple of years now. Very good in all light conditions. I recently bought a pair of dark lenses that I put in them if I am doing a lot of driving.

+1. The only pair of sunnies I've been able to trust while playing golf.

Brown is the colour for golf, enhances contours, contrast and depth perception.

Don't use grey, flattens everything out.

Don't use polarized lens, forgot why.

    +1 for Bolle Eaglevision.

Cheers for the advice, boys. A cheap pair of Sundogs with brown lenses could be a starting point. I can get a pair landed for about $25-$30.

If I have decent results, I'll probably upgrade to something better.

Contact lenses were $1200 for the pair, so the eye budget is just about exhausted.

What sort of life span do your contacts have at $1200? Makes my $120 a pair look cheap!

I wear polarized and they go ok, but I wouldn't buy a golf specific pair anyway.
