    Default Long Drive National Titles

Well..... Here is my official "round up" of the Long Drive National titles..

Th event was held from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th September with the men qualifying on the friday for Semi's on Saturday and finals on Sunday.... while us chicks were qualifying on Saturday for the finals on Sunday...

Let's start with Peter_rs.... Pete was in a tough pool for Friday qualifying, he unfortunately was relegated into the "loosers" bracket for a final shot. I was glad to see that Pete was having a go with some of the best in Australia. Unfortunately he went out in the next round.

ROC (aka Mark Stone) was put into one of the most toughest pools going against Mark "Shrek" Bylsma and Stephen Kennedy..... His plans went the same way as Pete's unfortunately.....

I will take this ooprtunity to thank both Peter and Sharon as well as Mark for their encouragement and their faith....

And now for my personal wrap....
On saturdy I turned up with all the other gals at 8.30am to hit at 9am... needless to say I hit like POO and qualified in 4th Position. I then jumped in the car and raced up to Riverlakes for a 11.32am hitoff for the 3rd round of the club champs (again some POO for an 87 gross..) back into car at 5.45pm and off to the LDA Dinner at 6.30pm at Palm Meadows... Shower, drop off the kids to grandma to arrive just in time for the buffet line to form..... Dinner, Drinks and some Presentations, where I was named in the Australian Team and LDA Ladies Tour winner... Winding up at home around 11.30pm...

Back up again at 4am for work at 5am (a quality 4 hours sleep....) work until 10am and then back into the car to pick up he girls and head off to the event to hit off at 1pm.... Everything running early and actually hitting off at around 12.30pm...

I pulled a Hammy string muscle and a few in the lower back for a 248m hit into 5th place... My one gripe was that some chick who did not turn up for qualifying on Saturday, turned up on Sunday and got to hit and pounded an effortless 302m yes... that was 302m.... I do not deny that she was unbelievable but none of the gals liked the fact that she wasn't there on Saturday... I know I could have done with the rest.....(still wouldn't have helped me anyways... )

So Keza the long Driver is NO MORE.... This is my first official announcement that I shall no longer compete in Long Drive events. Unless under payment of course...... but it's really gonna cost ya...

Mark Bylsma won the mens with a hellish bash, Ben Dyer 2nd and Lee Cousins 3rd.... (Unfortunate for ALD-Stephe Kennedy)

    Cheers

    Keza - the golfer......

    Keza,

    It was a good show-

I'm sure I will try and twist your arm in the local events (bris/gold coast) to give shaza and Alo support in there first hit outs.

It was werid to see a girl swing so smooth to hit 300m.  For the record the only one to hit 300+ this year, kylie did not hit 300 at Orange.  I think she will get her goal of turning pro this year if the rest of her game is that good.

I just wish I could have taken my range form to the grid.  And Roc peaked two days earlier.

The main thing I'm taking from the NATs is how close I'm to the top guys and I have so much room for improvement.

Does this mean I will have a super coach for next year

    Terry-

The list is long- my best hit of the week end last bounce went out was 330m, The nat record for men this year was 400m. so I have to try and pick up say 70m.

    Things I can work on-
A later release -I have a very early relase
General Club head speed- The top guys are 130+ I'm only 105+.
Shaft Lenght- I only went to a 49" shaft a week before nats and picked up 20m on my avg.
    General strength and flexability
    The belief I belong there

    Keza could add more-

The first thing I'm going to work on is picking a LD swing style/setup that suits by body to limit the chance of injury- I'm thinking Davyn Nola
    -  Then I have to get clubs to suit that swing eg at present even with a my 8.5* / 6* / 5* heads I have a high ball flight which didn't help on friday when there was a head wind.

I also have a mental thing where I back off to try and hit the grid if I have missed early and scared of breaking shafts- that has to change.

But it has the suspicious "icon" on the toe of the club plus the shape of the face.... I kinda think it's a R5/R5 TP.

    For the record guys....

I am retiring due to the amount of Back injuries I sustain doing LD... I am still doing 2 Chiro per week, 1 deep tissue massage per fortnight and near double before and after events.... I'm to old to be doing that...

Melissa Brydon, I'm sure is a nice chick... She used a club that had not been fully checked in before the event (illegal or not) and did not turn up for qualifying so I am still not happy jan.....
I know you think she's hot A-lo, and I'll remember that buddy!

Besides.... I have applied for a Traineeship and hope that I get it.... even if I don't this year, I have high hopes for a golfing career..

Having said that I will state that I will be available for LD Lessons and perhaps an OZGOLF LD Clinic one night soon if anyone is game...

I will need to speak to ROC to determine as to whether I shall sell my LD Clubs or what..

Thank you to all who have supported me...

    Cheers
