Played it a couple of times. Not the worst by any stretch, but nothing too special.

Played Tasmania GC instead when i was there .... it's a great track.

RH looked very flat .. while I understand it's always in great nic.

    Braddles is a member.

Usually in pretty good nick, unless we have been flooded of late, but as far as course design/layout, memorable holes etc. go I would play Tasmania GC every day of the week.

Played there twice. Nice track very good conditioning but as per previous nothing overly memorable. Tasmania is much more memorable.

You certainly wouldn't be the first person to do that. You won't be able to use it at RQ, but it is perfect for someone like you. And cheap when you look at what clubs you get. Only about $1100 from memory.

Sometimes cops a bad rap but although it's behind the mainland 'Royals' obviously I think it's quite a pleasant track. I play it probably half a dozen times a year when I'm down visiting family, my father is a member and he's perfectly content there and of course the reciprocals are definitely a bonus. sms316, curious to know why RQ are shunning RH members? Too many people joining just for the recips?

I'm not joining for the recipe's (I'm still a member of Royal Canberra), I'm joining because I'm probably moving to Hobart to live!

They aren't shunning. If PTP resides in Qld he can't use RH recips in Qld.

I read that as Shaun just implying that Pete wouldn't be able to be an RH interstate member and get recips in his home city. But if PTP is really moving down south obviously that would be irrelevant.

I wouldn't be organising a special golf trip to play at RQ! It is not that good.

As long as I can commute to Sydney once a week, I can live anywhere! I will probably go to the A380 QC.

My daughter is having health issues with the heat/humidity up here. She has a medical condition where she can't sweat therefore can't regulate her body temperature! hence Hobart!

Sorry to hear that too Pete. (not the moving to Hobart bit of course)

If you do go that route and you are ever looking for a partner for a round, my old man is always up for a bash (think he's off 6 at the moment, and a member at RHGC and Kingston, and my younger brother is the captain at Kingston Beach and is off 4ish)

    Hi Pete

Royal Hobart is always in good condition (where I play). Tasmania GC (played pennant there today) is a better layout, however the course is in average condition at the moment. They have had problems with water and struggling financially.

Shoot me a PM if you are interested in a game or need a nomination etc. Membership is $1,518, which includes $150 behind the bar.
