    Default Newbie from WA

    G'day guys...

Came across the forum the other week so figured why not join!

I used to be a guy that only played every now and then but have just joined Kwinana Golf Club which is about 15 mins from where I live as my old man has played there for several years now (I am 21 years old).

Got myself my first handicap which was a 24 but am working on it and currently down to a 21 in just over a month but aiming to be down to an 18 in another month before I start trying to head for the single figures!!!!

Playing with a recently purchased Callaway Diablo Octane driver in a stiff flex, Adams Speedline 3 and 5 fairway woods, a crappy Nike Sumo SQ hybrid, Callaway Razr X irons and an Odyssey 2-ball SRT putter or something like that.

I'm real keen to get down to a low handicap and hopefully be a scratch golfer in the near future - I know it's a long way off but I'm working on it!

Not sure what else to share so if you wanna know anything feel free to ask!

    Cheers,
    Jeffo (Ryan)

Welcome aboard our fellow WA golfer. You will be known as a WAnker but it's a term of endearment.

Enjoy the forum and don't be a stranger.

Welcome Jeffo. I hope you realise what you have gotten yourself into .

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

I won't shoot 3s for money with Jeffo.

With him joining, it ensures that WA would have he best state basketball team on Ozgolf. Front 3 all 6'4" or bigger.

By the sounds of it the State of Origin basketball matchup would be an easy win to WA!

FNQ would give it a shake, wouldn't they?

Welcome Jeffo. Did you recruit JC for your basketball team because you thought he was American?
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!

Haha I actually joined them but definitely would have ensured he was American if I was recruiting! Haha

Well, played today in a Par comp at Kwinana. Wasn't my best day but still managed to get around and finish with +1. This also brought my exact handicap down to 19.9 so I have cracked the 20 mark in about a month and half and am pretty happy with it! Next stop 18 and then hopefully keep going.
