Currently listening to part 1 of 2 of a No Laying Up podcast on Tiger's major championship history. Fascinating stuff if you have a spare 3 hours or so or need to go on essential travel.

Watching Charlie play makes me sick. I'm watching the replay and waiting for him to stuff up.

The commentator Dan Hicks was way over the top with his gushing praise of every shot.

I wonder if he'll be OK if they don't win.

It's a long bow to draw to say he'll make it as a pro but he's a really talented little kid.

That's what it ended up being with the appropriate gushing by Dan Hicks.

Can't say that I was surprised to see many of the people watching not wearing masks but it was Florida.

They just showed a big overhead pan back of the accident. At first, it looked like he must have gone over an embankment, but as it widened he must have just gone off the road, but it was a reasonable distance off the road, and the embankment is maybe what put the car on it's side.

I've found the location on Google Earth. He's veered left, gone over a median strip, then gone what looks like 100m or more on the wrong side of the road and straight into trees on the left side of the road. Rather than down and embankment, he's gone up one. Seems he might have launched after taking out what looks like a sizeable tree. You can just see the stump. From the damage to the car, and what appears to be the tree he's taken out, he was traveling!

Apparently no skid marks, so was he asleep again, it was 7.12am? Nontz interviewed him at the Riviera event, he looked drugged up.

Wow - only just catching up with this story. This is not a minor injury.

"Comminuted open fractures affecting both the upper and lower portions of the tibia and fibula bones". For those that are unaware, comminuted means that the bone has been broken into multiple pieces (ie. it is not just a simple break), and the open fracture means that bone broke through the skin. The open fracture means that there is likely to be significant damage to the nearby muscles, tendons etc as well as greater risk of infections.

Pure speculation at this point, but this type of injury is normally associated with substantial rehab and recovery times measured in months and years, not weeks.
