    Default 2012 Ozgolf Victorian Matchplay

    2012 Vic Ozgolf Matchplay
    Detail
Annual Ozgolf Matchplay event for the Mexicans. After closing date for interest, Bruce and myself will draw 1st round matches out of the hat. Matches will then be posted here. Round 1 will have a cut off date of. (more than likely end of May, due to the lateness of the draw). Round 2 will consist of all round 1 match winners (if odd number of entries some players may get auto entry to second round i.e. last years winner. Round 2 will have a cut off date of (more than likely end of June). Round 3 will consist of all round 2 match winners (if odd number of entries lucky losers get auto entry to third round) Round 3 will have a cut off date of (more than likely end of September). All subsequent rounds will be determined after final numbers have been confirmed. Format is handicapped matchplay i.e. one player has a handicap of 18 and the opponent has a handicap of 15 then the 18 h'caper will get a shot on the 3 hardest holes. It is advisable to organise golf days in an attempt to get multiple matches completed on the one day, also those new Ozgolf members can get to know other Victorian golfers, (all Interstate Ozgolfers are most welcome to play in these days if they are in town)It is the reponsibility of both players of a match to coordinate the playing of said match. Those players that do not have an official handicap are welcome to play, a handicap must be nominated by them prior to teh match in line with their ability. If a hustler is found within the ranks, I reserve the right to do something REALLY REALLY REALLY humiliating to them.

All Victorian Ozgolfers, who nominate for the annual Matchplay event do so with the understanding that they commit to jointly organise and complete a match with the drawn opponent within the allocated timeframe. If you believe that your commitments, outside of Ozgolf, will not allow the required opportunity to play the match please do not nominate in the first place. If a competitor can show evidence where they have attempted to organise a match, on mulitple occasions, at a perceived convenient time with their opponent without success, the match committee reserves the right to award the match (by walkover) to the competitor that has attempted to organise the match. This is an attempt to get this thing run and won annually. Anything not clear let me know.

Is Johnnyboy even a member here? Tried to look up for pm but does not seem to be on list.

Am I correct in thinking he is Flower Girls husband and should pm her?

If that is the case, perhaps we could play as a foursome. I haven't had any luck getting Flower Girl to respond my PM though.

No worries BGH.. If you hear can you let them know I'm looking to organise a day. Happy to suggest Huntingdale if that suits some time over Easter.

Pauly, my wife flies out on Sunday morning next week so I am free to play.

What time suits you? I can get us on at Kooringal (greens are good) or we can play somewhere else. Anyone else up for Sunday,1 April? Huntingdale would be nice

Really sorry guys. I didn't receive any Pm's and havent been on the site for a few weeks. Very busy at work and don't tend to go on the computer at home only iphone.
Johhny Boy is my other half and we are into foursomes!!! ( sorry for that comment but it is expected of me) We live down on the Mornington Peninsula but are happy to travel up for a match. Pretty free most Sundays. If BGH and Rodders want to come up with a venue and a date we will try our best.
BGH - I'm a pussycat really. Just get lucky now and then - don't believe the guys here. I promise I'll be nice to you.

Yes he is that lucky guy!! Would be good to play our games at the same time. I suggested to BGH that you guys come up with a venue and date and we will try and make it. We are pretty free at the moment.

Rodders, FlowerGirl has messaged me and is keen to play a foursome with you, me, her and JohnnyBoy. We can either take a trip down to the Mornington Peninsula and play one of the tracks down there (plenty of fantastic ones to choose) or I am more than happy to play Huntingdale.

We are free Sundays in April. We'd plan to go away but nothing booked as yet.

I can tell you now that Kooringal is "what you see is what you get". Theres only one or two blind shots that he should help you with. There's a couple of "whatever you do, don't hit it there" places but he'd be a dope if he told you those! Good luck guys, you'll enjoy it Pauly!

No, it will be in the afternoon (between 12.00 - 1.15) but it can't be booked in until late next week when the sheet opens. Firey will update us as soon as he books it in.

BGH I extended the Rd 1 deadline due to the lateness of the draw.

It would be beneficial to have the Rd 1 matches completed by April May.

IanO hosted me over at Kooringal today.
Lovely course, great company, oh, and he kicked my ass 3&2.
He played real well with 20 points on the back, while I wasted a shot or 2 trying to come to terms with my short game in that sticky kikuya grass.
Well played mate, look forward to having you over to Sandhurst sometime soon.

Thanks for coming over to Kooringal today Paulyboy! The weather was great, the course in good nick and the company was very good.

Hopefully the trip home was quicker than the trip over.

I am looking forward to coming over the Sandhurst some time in the near future.

Sorry FlowerGirl, still haven't heard back from Rodders yet. I am away over Easter so our foursome will have to wait until after that. Are you and Johnnyboy available on Anzac day?
