    Default 2012 Ozgolf Victorian Matchplay

    2012 Vic Ozgolf Matchplay
    Detail
Annual Ozgolf Matchplay event for the Mexicans. After closing date for interest, Bruce and myself will draw 1st round matches out of the hat. Matches will then be posted here. Round 1 will have a cut off date of. (more than likely end of May, due to the lateness of the draw). Round 2 will consist of all round 1 match winners (if odd number of entries some players may get auto entry to second round i.e. last years winner. Round 2 will have a cut off date of (more than likely end of June). Round 3 will consist of all round 2 match winners (if odd number of entries lucky losers get auto entry to third round) Round 3 will have a cut off date of (more than likely end of September). All subsequent rounds will be determined after final numbers have been confirmed. Format is handicapped matchplay i.e. one player has a handicap of 18 and the opponent has a handicap of 15 then the 18 h'caper will get a shot on the 3 hardest holes. It is advisable to organise golf days in an attempt to get multiple matches completed on the one day, also those new Ozgolf members can get to know other Victorian golfers, (all Interstate Ozgolfers are most welcome to play in these days if they are in town)It is the reponsibility of both players of a match to coordinate the playing of said match. Those players that do not have an official handicap are welcome to play, a handicap must be nominated by them prior to teh match in line with their ability. If a hustler is found within the ranks, I reserve the right to do something REALLY REALLY REALLY humiliating to them.

All Victorian Ozgolfers, who nominate for the annual Matchplay event do so with the understanding that they commit to jointly organise and complete a match with the drawn opponent within the allocated timeframe. If you believe that your commitments, outside of Ozgolf, will not allow the required opportunity to play the match please do not nominate in the first place. If a competitor can show evidence where they have attempted to organise a match, on mulitple occasions, at a perceived convenient time with their opponent without success, the match committee reserves the right to award the match (by walkover) to the competitor that has attempted to organise the match. This is an attempt to get this thing run and won annually. Anything not clear let me know.

ParkRoyal we have had competitors previously that participated who had no official handicap. All we ask is that the HCP you nominate is fair and balanced, else if you win your match your HCP for the next round will differ greatly from that of the first match.

Anyone interested in travelling 4-6 hours round trip to play their match???

Would love to enter this but don't get to the big smoke nearly often enough to make regular matches.

All the best boys and girls, have a blast!

    Lefty,
Jack has recently moved to Warnambool, if you are both keen I don't see any reason why you can't be paired with each other in round 1

Suppose it couldn't hurt depending on whether he wants to enter this or not. Will hopefully be able to catch up with him for a game at his current (and my ex) home track in the next month or two so if that can be arranged and Jack has no objections we can go from there.
    Cheers Chappy!

16 players would be ideal, where is Mint's name? Is the reigning champion still in the new Grandma afterglow and too busy to nominate? What about some other Vic Ozgolfers?

If you are new to the forum or have been just sitting on the periphery for a little while, sign up. These matchplay days are a lot of fun and don't be too concerned about your lack of HCP or ability. It all evens out in the end.

When do most of these days happen predominantly???
    Saturday or Sunday?

I think regardless of what happens with Jack I'll probably nominate for this. Would be a good excuse to take the better half down to Melbourne for what would be 4 times max for the year (and for that to happen I'd have to make the final, fat chance of that happening) and show her a good time. Still a pencil at this stage, but get the inkpot ready for me to dip the quill.

Lefty matches are always organised at the convenience of the 2 players of the match, so there is no definitive date, just an agreed date/time

Beauty mate, thought you'd be right to go as I assume you're still visiting Melbourne often enough to get your next game in after you whoop me! Happy to come to Port Fairy as that's about as fair a territory as we'll get around here! I'm happy to play it in a Saturday comp round if you are mate.

Why not, you can't have a winner unless there are a few losers.
