Coolangatta Tweed Heads Golf Club
Since played very little golf due to most courses being shut on the Gold Coast, I still needed my fix and decided to go for a drive with the Mrs down to Tweed Heads.
Paid a visit to CTH golf club and was surprised how great the course looked - they even had an 18 in play but warned it was very wet.
Pro shop was great. Good range of gear and prices were fantastic. Got an Adams a12 pro hybrid with Matrix xcon shaft for $170 - there $200 US on the sites I visited.
Guy in the pro shop great bloke and up for a chat. Only down side was he was a Collingwood supporter.
Thumbs up for good service and good product. Will definitely play next time.

You would have been better off hitting wedges on their range.

Nope. He was too busy committing acts of gross indecency with Parbreaker.

Now I think about it there was one lonely bloke hitting wedges on the short range near the carpark.
Bit weird though.
Was using his 3 wood to knock the ball about 5 metres but the dispersion was only an amazing 3 feet.

Bit of thread revival here , Im playing my pennants match down there this Sunday on the river course.. Wont get a practise round in beforehand so I've had a quick look at the lay out online , Looks like a lot of harsh doglegs , anyone care to give some insight?

Hit the ball to the spots you can see! The only corner I hit over is 9. Just over the bunker with a fade. But there is internal out of bounds to the right.
All of the other dog legs are surrounded by jungle you can barely get out of them so the risk is too high.

So a lot of holes do not require a driver? seems to be a fair few 200m lay ups to the doglegs?

I played there in January....MTB...is 12 the one with the really short lay up to a 90 degree dogleg left....because whichever one that was....I totally screwed the pooch on.

Yes. The difficulty with that hole is the great big tree on the left If you are too conservative with the layup you are screwed. But hitting uphill helps you not going too long.
OTOH 200-210 is the distance you want to precisely hit it
