Oil is about to hit the magic $100 a barrel. Mostly cos the USD is at its lowest ever value and you would think that should mean cheaper fuel for us.

heard on the radio petrol will be up 7c next week.

So the rising cost of fuel isn't a concern in your household then ?

Lucky you, it's certainly hitting my hip pocket hard !

There's nothing I can do about it. I can't do anything about interest rates either.

    $1.75/litre here in Sydney today.

Starting to hurt as I set the car lease up paying $1.50/litre. Lucky the fuel economy the Focus is getting is way better than the estimate calculating fuel use. Sort of offsetting it, will have to see how the statement looks this month.

What is your Focus averaging? Im getting low 7's after almost 40,000km in mine. For our next car we were wanting to get something with 7 seats, but there just doesn't seem to be anything on the market that gets reasonable fuel economy and seats 7. I'd consider an LPG conversion on a Ford Territory or something, but who knows where LPG prices will go too....

The latest weekly hike went to $1.70 - 1.75 here in Melb and slap on extra $0.10/L for premium too for some cars.

BrisVegas, I have a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder, 7 seat, 2.5L, manual TD, I am averaging 8.7l per 100k's. Not bad for a vehicle that weighs in at just over 2 tonne.

The V6 on the other hand needs a tanker following close behind

No not really, through medium traffic to and from work, uses a bit when off road. Very economical engine as I like to get up to the speed limit as fast as I can.
