So whos next Please YOSSS
Sorry imageshack deleted my pics or something.
Back up now. You play the winner of JC and Shadesy.
Easy win if I play JC go JC sorry about that Shadesy
Still using those strokes as crutches, or will we settle this like men if I get past Shadesy?
I beat you once... Just ask Nuffie and I can do it again
My point is that you are saying that you'll beat me, but in reality, you probably wouldn't if we played it legit.
It is like me telling Usain Bolt that I'll beat him in a race and that I am faster than him, but then turning around and asking for a 30m head start.
You can't talk smack, if you have to depend on a handicap to do your dirty work for you.
Without caps last time it would have been square when the match ended.
I did play crap and can make no excuses on that.
My only point is that if you want to talk a little smack, it should be backed up in a manly way and you shouldn't hide behind the cap or at least play at 3/4 like a lot of the other matches.
I still have a big task at taking down Shadesy, so it might not even happen.
I know that feeling giving away shots how many do you give him
I had to give away 11
Shades will be getting 6 or 7. A while back he mentioned something about playing at off the bat, but I think he might have been drunk.
dc68 won this yet?
Forum needs more banter.
It is a tough task giving away more than 4 shots on Matchplay.
Hocko lost his to me that way, I felt a little uncomfortable back then too.
I don't play Pennants anymore as all Division 5 and above play handicaps and having to give 6 or 7 is not fun.
Unfortunately, there isn't a more equitable system.

People that have lower handicaps than me are whiny girls. There is a reason you have to give me that many shots. It is because I am a chopper with 22,222 posts or something. Toughen up ladies.
3/4 difference is the fairest. Choppers tend to have a couple of blowouts which doesn't affect them as much in matchplay.
Problem is that choppers get on boards and think that they actually deserve to get their name on the honour board.
Forum needs more banter.
The reason you play off 1 is because you don't have blowout holes. That means you are even better at matchplay.
Suck it up biatch.
Why exactly do I need to answer to you?

It is funny how some people's minds work.I discussed cap manipulation with one member who told me a few people.that were guilty of it and how it was terrible.Shortly thereafter, the same member said they didn't care about their score that day and were happy not to hand in a card to get a shot back.I play to get as low as I can.
I do find the golf handicap thing a bit weird. When I was racing mtb's I was never a chance of winning a race, but I was quite happy tryin to keep getting better placings. For me, my focus is on trying to break 90 for the first time in a comp and to get my cap back into the teens.

I don't believe there is any OZGolfer here that would sandbag for champs. If they did, they would be ostracized off the forum. There's always talk about about the lower HCs 'blowing out' by a couple of strokes. Jack or JC having an extra one or two strokes more going to make the difference - IMO - I doubt it.
It is tougher for the lower HC players to win in these type of events due to the lack of divisional separation. A chopper (12ish - 27) is more likely to shoot 40+ points than a 4 HC who has to Par every hole or birdies to make up for the one or two bogeys. The courses we are playing aren't all easy and KB (Tips) will be challenging. Marty is the best amateur I have played around with so far, considering the weekend activities, I would be very impressed if he came in with 39 points on Sunday.
OZgolf champs here has been a game of attrition, post a good score on the early rounds and defend that good score based on the individual's stamina. We all don't play multiple rounds on a weekend nor do we binge regularly. From a golfing perspective - it is a tough toll.
The money games are a different story...

I know a lot of people who talk about blowing out their handicap for this or that event.
Hell I do it myself. But when they are playing a comp beforehand and get to that 16th hole with a chance to post a score and win a golf ball and knock a shot off their handicap, I've never seen one deliberately throw out the anchor and actually back up the words.
Mostly I think it is covering for their embarrassment. Nobody wants to admit that their handicap is going out because they are just playing shit golf. Much easier to make like you are ambivalent about it and letting it happen on purpose.
I sandbag all the time.
