Not overly fussed on him myself. We looked a top batsman down to me. Carey had been awesome batting at 7. An ideal team for me later would have Stoinis and Maxwell (when fully available) in there for Turner and Agar. I think you'd get 10 overs out of them and the batting would be stupendous. Turner won a game over there this time last year with an explosive innings but i think it's reasonable to say Maxwell and Stoinis could pop in there fairly. Guys like Starc and Cummins can bat a bit but it's not an overwhelming bottom 5.

Rest your best bowlers and you’re in trouble, it’s not 20 20 , bit bowlers don’t cut it for 50 overs
Anyway they evened the series and that’s what they were trying to do
How many batsmen do you seriously need ?
Carey is the best keeper batsman in Australia at the moment but comes from the wrong state when NSW or Queensland poach him he will be in
Always been the same batsmen give you a score bowlers win you the game
    Just my 20 cents worth

I can ship a parcel from the USA at 120cm. Aus post is happy to deliver said parcel once it reaches Australia.

But try and lodge a parcel above 105cm at my local post office, and you get a look like you've committed a bloody war crime.

I couldn't find this post in the Cricket thread, so I thought it must have been deleted, but here it is!

I wouldn't have picked him either.

I know the rules of golf courses, and how you're meant to wear a collared shirt, but for the life of me I can't understand why you'd make mention of it to someone at 7:30 on a Sunday evening. I was out for a very casual stroll well after the pro shop had closed, and caught up to a group in front and within two minutes one of them had asked me how I got let on without a collar. I mean really dude? Who bloody cares.

    Pennant vs Pennants.

Seems everyone is a little confused - half the DGA teams rep shirts have Pennant, the other half have Pennants.

    Good times.

Maybe the Pennants clubs have teams in more than one division

Tests cost money, and take time. Need to save them for those who think they're sick. And it's not about stopping covid, but slowing it down so emergency services don't get overrun on mass. The example of what happened in Philadelphia and St Louis with the Spanish flu is being trotted out. We're all gonna get it at some stage or another. We have about 3.9 hospital beds per 1000 people, vs say South Korea who is considered to have handle their legal well who have over 12 beds per 1000. So we just want to spread out how full those beds get with flu patients.

In light of an eventual shutdown in the future, I might start stocking essentials for the future.

Nancy Pelosi priorities. Blocking the USA stimulus package because she wants environmental protections included. On top of a few weeks ago proposing stimulus that included abortion funding hidden deep under several layers. Important issues yes, but when trying to mitigate a crisis, shouldnt even be at the bottom of any list.

P.s. i dont think helicopter cash is the right thing to do either.

Gst money goes to the states, so if they raise it, the Federal govt gets zero.

I dare say Waza's point is that we will have to pay for these massive deficits somehow, and tax increases are the obvious consequence.

I've actually been taking a quiet delight in the uncomfortable way the right wing nut jobs have been supporting the PM and government, when ever since 2008 they have declared big deficits to be evil. On the same track I've been enjoying the discomfort of the hard left, who are finding it difficult to criticise the PM and government right now.

Nevertheless, the world has changed, and we are going to have to live with it the best we can.
