That should be a certificate of completion, not participation. You completed an Ironman, Marathon, Ultra. You didn’t just participate.

That’s different. Finishing that nonsense is a big deal.

It’s sort of like a game of golf in golflink.

Why would they have a marathon event at work?

You get those before the run, so they don't mean too much since you don't even have to complete. That said, I don't think I've thrown any of my event shirts (or caps) out, even the ones that don't fit anymore and probably never will.

Do tell. Should one not be proud of a successful result following months of training?

Be proud, but don't do it around me. I don't care.

Pretty sure I’ve thrown all of my participation medals out but because I’m such a good bloke I’ll try and find one now to wear around you next week.

Fair enough, but my motto has always been if you have to tell people how good you are, you ain't that good.

I very much put the caveat that it was a schoolboys tournament, a stroke round, and we weren't even in the same group. If you think that's genuinely me telling people I'm good, we need to correct your definition.

Anyone can do a marathon. Ironmans on the other hand are for lunatics only.

A dad racing his three young boys down a hill and beating them. No regard to the road traffic and all without helmets on. No bike lane and road is not wide enough to fit two cars and a bike.

I did this with my WA Champs MVP medal that I was awarded at Sun City back in the day when we defeated the Hoges’ squad.

Tiger Hamilton didn’t let that stop him.

Shame Luke bullied him out of the game.

No issue with the medal however you have to take one for the team when some punter at work wants to take everyone through their vegan journey
