That should be a certificate of completion, not participation. You completed an Ironman, Marathon, Ultra. You didn’t just participate.

You get those before the run, so they don't mean too much since you don't even have to complete. That said, I don't think I've thrown any of my event shirts (or caps) out, even the ones that don't fit anymore and probably never will.

I very much put the caveat that it was a schoolboys tournament, a stroke round, and we weren't even in the same group. If you think that's genuinely me telling people I'm good, we need to correct your definition.

No issue with the medal however you have to take one for the team when some punter at work wants to take everyone through their vegan journey
