    I haven't really had an issue taking it off. The best stuff comes off in one piece, sometimes it will tear and I end up with a few pieces, but noting any worse than masking tape to deal with. And I haven't had to use a heat gun todate either.

    Hi guys

    I might have the opportunity to buy an old Maltby loft and lie machine. Risk is, apparently it hasn't been used for ages.

    Questions;
    - Are Maltby machine's any good?
    - This hasn't been calibrated for a number of years, so could be way out. Is it hard to calibrate a machine?

    Thanks guys.

    I haven't used the Maltby, but looking at pics it's pretty basic, but should do the job.

    In regards to accuracy, lie/loft machines aren't a calibrated item. Most have an accuracy of +/- 1deg. If you want accurate measurements they should be used in conjunction with spec gauges. They are all pretty accurate in regards to loft changes though - 2deg is 2deg (if that makes sense).

    If you have the opportunity to buy it do so, they don’t come up very often!

    So I ended up grabbing the Maltby loft and lie machine.

    I measured a 6i in the machine against my known specs. It's pretty accurate.

    My next question is any got any ideas how I use it to actually bend clubs?

    I know the numbers running up against the side are outdated for lofts these days, but I assume I can use it as a guide?

    Any help will be great!

    Well you need to clamp the head where the brass parts are bottoms middle.
    Looks like the winding bit is missing the handle to wind?
    Should be heaps of information on the web, plus YouTube......
    You could even contact them direct for the original manual?

    Cheers cap. Yeah I've been doing some research. Looks like the current golfworks machines are very similar to mine. So found some YouTube clips.

    You pull the black handle out and locate it relative to the club you want adjust, I.e. if you move the frame to the very bottom setting you will be adjusting a 64 deg wedge as an example.

    Once the club is clamped in the machine, the groove side should rest up against the frame, the back scale will then be used to rest against the shaft and will indicate lie angle and actual loft

    You will then have the actual lie and loft of the club before bending.

    You can now adjust the hosel with the bending bar to your desired lie and loft.

    The gauge at the back of the sliding apparatus is where you measure the loft if you need to deviate from the fixed lofts on the frame.

    As Loz noted, you are missing the Tbar at the top of the threaded rod. You can just improvise with a steel rod of some sort

    Thanks chappy. Any tips on how to prevent marring on the clubs?

    Nope, just comes with practice.

    It's a real achievement to leaving unsightly marring marks on the hosel

    Just take your time and it will be fine

    What epoxy is everyone using?
    Where is everyone getting their hosel honing brushes from?

    Bramptons Pro Fix Quick Cure or Golfworks Quick Set.

    Are there any local (Australia) businesses to get the Bramptons from or is it all from the USA?
    I'm always on the hunt for some local hosel brushes that are a longer than the drill fit ones from golf works. They aren't long enough for deep hosels IMHO.

    eBay is the place for local Golf Epoxy sellers, if you aren't ordering from Golfworks;

    I use the handled versions of the Hosel Brushes, if that is what you are referring to?

    Walkerden will sell any of it's club building supplies to the public. They have been pretty good for me in the past. They have a good rubber cement to replace Bostik if that's your thing as well.
