I really feel like I need to have my putter bent a little flat - is this something that anyone with a L/L machine can do?
I heard that a special tool is required for bending putters - as keeping the loft the same is really important???

Bugger. With my present putter: to have the sole grounded properly; I need to have my hands away from my body a little more than I would like.
If I try and bring the putter closer to my feet It feels terribly cramped. I'm thinking adjusting lie of the putter would help - making it flatter.
Guess I need to go to those "Clubfitter" people.

I get mine done by Tourfit. Makes a huge difference.
It actually makes alot more difference than poeple think.
Next time you are at your club, watch a few guys on the practice putting green from behind.
Id bet more than 75% would have the toe sitting way off the ground and pull most putts left.
I learnt more about putting in an afternoon at the Oz Scotty Cameron Collectors weekend than i have anywhere else.
Some very knowledgable guys (who are off 2,3,4 h/caps so can play) that where very helpful in setup/plane etc...
Lie angle with the putter is THE most important lie angle in the bag.
Tru dat Fit...
FWIW, and i presume you have a putter Loft & Lie machine, what would you charge to get it done?
Reason i ask is that id like 2 poss 3 putters bent 1-1.5* flatter?
The question is, how do we get measured for putter loft/lie? I know how to do irons. Then once measured, is there anywhere in Melbourne where we can get it bent?

Thanks for the responses guys.
I will try and find a fitter who will help me.
It is my pet hate seeing people who have the toe far off the ground - I can't be bothered explaining it to them anymore either. A lot of guys I play with Dont even know that putters have loft. *face palm*
What is the main difference between a standard L/L machine and one that is meant for putters?
TourFit: do you find that most people need their putter lies adjusted?

IanO: I'm only assuming I need it bent flatter: so that's a great question.
The reason why I think I need this done: when I take a "comfortable" stance: the heel o the putter will
Be grounded and the toe will be up in the air. It feels natural and comfortable. But putts go left.

I actually think that mine is fine, as when I did a few videos of my putting for the Boomerang kit it showed that my putter sitts flat when I putt.
It would still be good to get it checked.

Ha. I know of the TPG.
I've voiced my concerns/ questions about TPG and caused a bit of a cuffuffle over there!
The other site sure loves the place. I might pay them a visit with putter in hand 😃

Send Kari Lajosi a PM.
You don't get me. I'm part of the Union.
I do have one...and very useful it is too! Prices vary depending on the putter and how much has to be done, but generally a SC would be $10 or so for a loft/lie and check afterwards.
It is also important to note that length plays a vital role here too. Most guys need lie adjustments AND length adjustments.
1) Take your comfy stance and the end of the grip should be level with the wrist line of your top hand
2) Your eyes should be over the ball OR just inside the line of the ball
3) The putter should be flat to the ground at address
4) The left arm and putter shaft (ideally) should be close to a straight line from front on
These are the common fundamentals that I use to put the golfer in a better fundamental position to make a decent stroke (and do it more consistently). It will not make a bad putter great, but it will help with consistency and repetitiveness over time. The key thing is to remember that the inanimate object (putter) should ALWAYS be fitted to the animate object (you)
They do a great job, and are really nice guys hence the love, we are talking about Total Golf Performance, aint we?

My local pro has a g2 anser that he uses to fit people. It has lie adjustments and length as well.
Any clubmakers on here live near Hawthorn in Melbourne? I want to get my wedges extended an inch but don't have the gear to do it myself.

I am looking at Counter balancing/ Butt weighting options. Any recommendations on easiest/best products in this area?. The Tourlock system looks good, but seems to require modifying the grip to take the weights. I would prefer a system that avoids that if I can. Perhaps weight tubes like those Golfworks have?
If you've blown the grips on, the I reckon the plastic caps and lead weight would be easy. If glued, then the tour lock would be just as easy...
