Hi all, would like to know if there is anyone out there in the Brissy area that build clubs.
I would like to get a set built, would also like to spine the shaft & frequency match & FLO the shaft.
I would be happy to assist with the build process.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
I guess there isn’t
Rowey can help but you'll need to ship em down to me here in Melbourne.
Depending on what shafts you are talking about, Spining may be irrelevant. As the manufacturing process improves, and it has significantly, the Spine has become less prominent and some steel shafts can have more than one Spine.
Floing may add value, and there are a couple of schools of thought on the orientation of the NPB. I typically install the NPD at the 12 o'clock point.
Frequency matching has the potential to be very beneficial, but if there is a lack of consistency across the shafts you have, you may not get what you are striving for. This is best achieved if you have access to substantial stock.

Silly question, but does epoxy go bad or lose it's effectiveness over time?
I have to glue something up, and the Brampton epoxy I have is a few years old now. Hasn't dried up at all though...
If I take a driver shaft out of an older bore-through driver (Titleist 905R) how much should I tip it to play true to flex in a modern driver with an adaptor tip? I would guess 0.5" but not sure if it should be closer to 1".
Thanks in advance.
Some of the shaft manufacturers have this info in their trimming instructions, std bore v bore through.
Should be OK, test glue some paddle pop sticks in a cross if you can’t pull them apart cleanly, the glue is good

Thanks. To ask the stupid question: if the old bore through is 3" and the new adaptor insertion is 1.75" should it be tipped 1.25"?
My googling has returned a few different answers so I'm still a bit confused.

just wondering if anyone can clarify this for me...
Currently using the KBS Tour 110 Regular for my JPX919HM irons, and seem to be hitting it well (for now)
However, for the 4-5 irons I have, I am hitting the ball pretty good most of the time (with the occasional thin shots or pulled left); however, the launch of the ball is medium to low, and I struggle to stay on the green when I am attacking it. So a higher launching ball flight may help. (Im hopeless with consistent Hybrids for some reason)
So, would a shaft change help in this situation, or good idea to keep them the same and live with it?
edit: going to a Mizuno fitting session tonight to have a go at different shafts

Shaft can make a slight difference, but I’d be looking at the static loft/swing speed equation if launch is low.

Yeah... had the fitting session tonight... from the kbs steelfiber nspro... they all had the same launch angle and ball height.
Went to lighter shafts... tried the recoil F4 and even f3. The lighter shafts also had the same launch angle and ball height. Just seems to carry longer.
So yeap... shafts will not make much of difference then.
Might just save the money and see the pro instead then.
For me, i generally dont have problems holding a green whether hitting it low or high, the difference on the ground is only going to be 2-3m normally. there are just so many factors at play, but as you have found, shaft dont make that much difference. If you want more height, then get a club with lower CoG, but the first obvious thing that comes to mind, is what ball you are using?
I'm thinking of having a crack at gripping some clubs myself.I think I've find the double sided tape required in the link below.
Would this work? What sort of solvent do you use with tape like that?
