possibly a dumb question, but should you match your wedge shafts to iron shafts?

eg. if i was to get AMT Black Stiff in irons at 1/2" long, should I get the same spec in gap, sand, lob wedge? Or does it really not matter that much with wedges?

I suggest at least matching up any wedges you regularly play full shots with like maybe a GW, wedges only used for partial shots is all feel and personal preference.

Not a dumb question at all...

I usually advise to have the same shafts in wedges for average or below average golfers, and the 'better' you are the more you can go with what feels best IMO.

Goonie isn't far wrong with the "full shot" analogy, but depending on what ball you use, course conditions etc and how your spin rates are should help determine whether you need different wedge shafts to gain/reduce spin as you require.

The AMT's get heavier as they get shorter and are mid-weight, so around 116g in the wedges. If you need more weight then the DG Spinner S400 will work. If you want the weight / balance to remain then the DG MID S300 may work too.

And if you want more weight AND less spin then the AMT White may work well, as will a standard DG S400

I am pretty sure the drivers haven't changed since the 910, the FW adapters changed with the 913 or 915 models.

Yeah, pretty sure they work back to the 910 in driver. Not sure about fairways.

What shaft extensions do people use? I'm tinkering with extending a few putters. I've seen the graphite or aluminium ones on ebay. Maybe not as critical for putter but interested to know what is best.

The Parage brand are great in my eyes. Lots of size options to get a snug fit.

A sawn-off butt end of a broken shaft.

I have a few just lying around.

I wouldn't ever do this with any other club, but for a putter it works perfectly.

Reporting back on the shaft extension. Used a portion from a spare iron I had. Extended approx 3-4 inches and worked perfectly.

If I extend a driver shaft with a 1" button extension, how much of a difference does that make compared to a shaft of the same length without the extension? Lots? Bugger all?

The swing weight of the club will change.
Don’t think the shaft performance will change.

Bob I believe it will change the swingweight by roughly 6 grams/points to the heavy.

So whatever SW you started at before extending, add approx 6 points to it
