Depends on how much Bostick glue was used to put it on.

I put grips on with turps and 2 square inches of double-sided tape. 20-30psi will remove those grips. (I expect the 'compressor and hairspray' lads will say the same.)

If you syringe enough white spirits into the butt hole (no homo), you can slowly work it off with air.

Like I said if the bloke needed to cut the grips off, it probably wasn't a professional job.

They'll 100% blow off easy as. You could inject it, but the rigid core make them one of the easiest grips to blow off imo.

Am thinking about changing wedge set up
Can I adjust a 52 and 56 deg wedge to 50 and 54 assuming they are forged . I know adjusting cast clubs is a risk
    Currently using 44,49,52, 56 n 60 , wanting to go to
    44,50,54 n 60 maybe even 58 with the 60

That wouldn't a problem, for a forged or cast wedge.
Will change the bounce too though.

For example 52 bent to 50 will decrease bounce by about 2 degrees.

HB is spot on. It will also change the offset. One degree doesn't change the offset and look too much but 2 degrees or more makes a wedge look quite different as it will be a fair bit more offset.

And FWIW, the various Golf Marts/Worlds around Sydney are always looking for staff, but very hard to make ends meet on that kind of money. These are the things you come across when you have a SEEK alert set up for "Golf jobs in Sydney".

Ok clubmakers, a hotmelt question. A reverse hotmelt question.

How do you get it out?

I have a FlyZ+ that is 12g heavier than normal, and it has the std flip weight. I know I can get a lighter weight, but also after options to get any hotmelt out. My own fault for not checking weight prior to purchase.

Have read MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) is the bomb, and acetone is ok too. My concern is either of these reacting with the epoxy holding the carbon crown and sole pieces in.

    Any other suggestions?

    Cheers,
    Ben

Larry is a great guy. I spent a week learning everything he writes about in that article. He didn't mention about driver fittings, but a "proper" fitter uses a loft and lie machine for drivers, as OEMs adjustable heads have poor tolerances. Also, you can check if the club is open or closed face and the true loft.

Over the years I've built 1000's of clubs and I still get surprised from time to time.

I'm rebuilding a set of irons for one members here.
In summary, they are OEM builds of a latest release iron from this manufacturer.

I had some spare time this morning waiting for th kids to get ready for school and so decided to make a start on dis assembling some of the clubs, starting with the 4 iron.

No surprises with the heat required, low heat on hosel. After 45 seconds applying heat with a heat gun, I use a welding glove to hold the club head then with the other hand hold the grip of the club. Twist in opposite directions....viola.
On inspection I found that the steel shaft tip had be insert just on 1/2 an inch into the hosel, whereas the hosel depth as actually 1 and 1/8th's of an inch. Pretty crap Quality Control form the OEM. You run the risk of the steel tips bending over time. If they were graphite shafts, these could have snapped, and have done previously.

Pulled the 5 iron and same result, although this was installed just under 3/4's of an inch so only about a 1/2 inch short of what it should have been. I stopped at this point.

It's irrelevant, as I am rebuilding them, but this seems particularly poor.

I'll leave this to the owner of these clubs to N & S if they want to.

I personally have no issue outing them Jazz, but i think it's a decision for the club's owner.
