Always a heat gun...but use the attachments that direct the heat better. Butane torches can be good for certain things, but I've found I can also do them with a gun. Having said that I have a micro torch (bit bigger than a pen) that can come in handy for fiddly little jobs. But every time I use a torch, I use some Heat Shield paste around the area outside what you want to heat.

Do you need to keep the shafts? If not cut them at the hozel with a hacksaw then just drill the shaft out of the hozel.

The plastic nozzle didn't last long, so I bought a cheap 'Project Air - Leisure Adaptor Pack' which had a brass stepped-cone nozzle.

I only ever used the ball inflatter needle thingy Dotty, never tried it with the plastic nozzle. I've never had a problem using it that way at all, and I've lost count of the amount of grips I've taken off and put back on with it. . Give that a try.

For removing grips? Any $99 air compressor with a tank will do.

Cool, then yep, a super cheap or bunnings special will do the trick. I've done the tyre thing too!

When assembling a set of irons, how do you check the swingweight of the club(s) before glueing? Do you assemble them (unglued) with grip on first?, or is there a short cut method to doing that?

I use second hand grips of the same weight that have been split down the grip so you can pop it on and off.
