Funny story but an ex member on here has a circle t that was one of Greg Norman's own putters.
This guy is pretty short, so needed it flattened.
Just put his foot on the top line (with golf shoe on) and bent it till he like the lie....

I don't have an issue with that, but it's a Scotty. I heard Scotty personally drowns a cat every time you do something like that outside of his custom shop.

Shafts are easy enough to find for very little $. Keep an eye on the pro shop here for some good options.
It all comes down to if you can re-shaft yourself or know a mate that can do it for near or nothing.

Well I want to get into reshafting and regripping ,a mate has just sent his 6 iron to Adelaide to get reshafted and it will take 2 weeks because Drummond will have to order in a shaft , I know full well they will outsource the job anyway , they wanted to sell him another 6 iron instead . His is a Srixxon and they want to sell him a Callaway does nothing when you want a full set
Shonky car salesmen come to mind know nothing about fixing anything uprgrade and buy another what a load of BS
As everyone in country SA knows South Australia ends at Gepps Cross

Re-shafting and re-gripping is very simple with right tools. It comes down to how much you want to spend.
For re-gripping an air compressor, air gun, masking tape, a can of hair spray, a vice and a rubber shaft holder for the vice is all you need.
For re-shafting a shaft puller (theses range greatly in price), heat gun or butane torch, long ruler, some epoxy, small wire drill bit attachments for cleaning inside hosels, spare ferules will get the job done.
Every club workshop should have acetone for cleaning.

There are plenty of extras to add that help such as shaft & grip gauges, swing weight scales.

Got nearly all the basics except the shaft puller , have been looking at the roberts on Ebay but mainly as a guide . I think I could make one easy as but might not be worth it if Chappy is a decent price , I am a boiler maker so just a matter of sourcing the bits , then the confidence to do it pull shafts that is
The first thing I did on the forum was read the clubmakers thread from the first page to the last took 2 nights and almost a carton of Pale
So know the basics from you very knowledgeable guys

Get a cheap old iron and a similar fairway wood. Pull the shafts. Confidence gained

Got a few half clubs around from when I used to throw them , poor old powerbuilts will have a go on them first of course
Mind you this noodle on the cleveland if you waved it over hot water you could make spaghetti out of it , with a decent tomato sauce of course
Having said that the powerbuilts were all S300 1" over so probably worth pulling anyway , now if I can just find them?

My .580 extenders arrived today. The step part that slides inside the club shaft is 3" long.
Should I use as is that long or trim that down a bit?

The reason I ask is the .600 ones I have, the step that goes inside the club shaft is only 1 3/8" long?

Use the full length, no need to cut them down.

So my beloved Accra CS1 is dead. Snapped at the hosel from a bit of a dropkick.

Had a brass tip weight inside, which is now stuck in the tip below the remnants of the shaft. It spins in the tip as is.

I thought about drilling it after cutting it off, but since it spins, and it's brass, I doubt I will get much purchase. I cant get enough grip / leverage to pull it out.

I want to keep this adapter as it is the correct adapter, with the right loft numbers for my pink bio cell.

    So, my idea was:
    1. Get a steel shaft designed for woods, cut it 6" from the tip.
    2. Use a grinder to cut serrations in the end of the shaft.
    3. put the shaft over the weight, and "drill" it into the adapter, using the serrations to cut/gouge out the old graphite remnants.
    4. Use some heat and some pliers to pull the brass weight out, once all the graphite is out.

    Thoughts?

Anyone have a junk steel wood shaft they can cut 6" off the tip and send me?

    Cheers,
    Ben

If you could pull the grass weight out, wouldn't that pull out the rest of the graphite shaft in the tip? Maybe if you heat up the tip and put it in a rubber shaft clamp with the brass weight sticking out, do you think you could hold the brass weight tip with a pair of vice grips and pull it out? I don't think the hot tip will damage the rubber shaft clamp will it?

Yeah I gave that a go already, cannot generate enough grip or pull for it to budge.

I was angry, gave it 6 or 7 good goes. Even screwed the extractor screw and washer in the other end, clamped that in the vice, and pulled against it.

Did you hit it with a heap of heat first straight down inside the adapter?

Snappes clean at the top of the hosel, and the tip weight is the low profile version thats about 1mm thick on the base.

Could you clamp the brass tip weight in the vice and leave enough room to put a shifter in there and tighten up the shifter till it is on the brass and leaver the shifter against the side of the vice while it is heated up.

Ok, how about this idea. Attached a set of smallish Vice Grips to the stem, so that you can then clamp the Vice Grips like you would a shaft? Screw & washer on the end to pull against. Heat and pull as per normal?

Tried a bodgy version of this, but this sounds better. Will try this too.
