Whats cool about golf is you come accross stuff that you didtn know. I have just found out that Endo forged irons and maybe others require a ferrule with a collar so that you don't need to use glass beads (white sand or salt) when re shafting. All the important things in life!!

Most TM irons i've ever had sported the collared ferrule.

Why bother with collared ferrules. Cut a 1mm strip of masking tape and wrap it around the shaft to make it tight at the top. Then use one of the many more awesome non collared ferrules.

What do you do for missing adapter screw grommets chappy? I'm going to cut some up myself when i get around to it, assuming you do the same. Probably need to pick up a few steel washers too as i think an Adams or two are missing them.

What is the best way of protecting a plastic ferrule when pulling an adapter from a shaft using a heat gun?

I generally wet a hanky or paper towel, wring it out, and wrap it around the ferrule. Sometimes add a rubber band to help hold it together.

Thanks Ben, I will give that a go.
I want to pull a SLDR adaptor without melting the higher/lower ferrule.

Steve if you want to be pedantic, grab some cooling gel. You can reuse it if you are careful
