    Clubmakers,

After de-chroming the custom grinds, they have lost between 5-7g per head. How will this affect swingweight??? Much or not too much??

Happy to lead them up with tape but dont usually go into SW too much

    Thanks

Matt if they aren't built yet, just use some tip weights to get them where you want them.

Don't underestimate the impact of consistent SW throughout the set

    Here is a link to a handy reference;

    http://advancedballstriking.com/Swing_weights.pdf

    2grams at head end = 1SW approx.

So you are looking at between 2 to 4 SW range at the most. Will it make a big difference? probably not, but it might change the feel enough to notice, and it may move your impact point on the club face. Try them and see how they feel. Ideally use some impact tape to see where your strikes are?

No tip weights at my end. Was going to build and test. Then lead tape of needed. But I don't have a scale even to test SW.

Can you determine the SW with the raw head weight and shaft?

You can in a round about way:
    http://www.golf-components.com/swing-weight-calculator.html

Or the poormans swingweight estimator if you can locate the balance point of the whole club:

Surely there's some OG peeps nearby with a SW scale.

    Would be worthwhile Matt.

I was also thinking the de chroming would take off a lot more weight!

This. Swingweight's an arbitrary number. If you can't tell it doesn't matter.

I thought the graphics looked like they were real deal but perhaps I was mistaken. Under $20 a pop for a shaft is still good buying I would have thought.

I think you'll find they are fitting cart shafts, so they'll all be tipped to buggery, and will only work if you have an exotics quick connect.

Though a few look like driver tips. In my opinion, someone certainly paid overs.

Another reason why I hate made for shafts mimicking expensive real shafts.

Where can I get ferrules at a reasonable price, all the ones on EBay seem to be $3-$4 each, I always seem to bugger up the ferrule when I pull a shift.

Chappy will have some, but I just get packs of 25 from grail costs about $10 posted, takes a couple of weeks to get here. Just gave all my spares away to an ozgolfer in need though.
