    https://www.bunnings.com.au/selleys-...-glue_p1230038

    2. After a small quantity of ferrules. Where's the best place for supplies ... The Bay, online store etc ? The Bay has what I'm after (a specific size collared ferrule to suit Vokey SM8's) ... But have to buy 12, yet will only ever use 3 or 4 max I'm thinking.

The rest will be trail, error and re glue !

    Any pointers appreciated.

    Cheers.
mate I’m no super expert. But have used that hd araldite in all my builds and do use shaft beads as well, not an issue, ever.
ferrules annoy me I buy 50 odd at a time from grail.com but the special ferrules for vokeys and glides are either $5 ea locally or cheaper per unit by the doz from o/s and take forever to get here. I’ve always spent the $$ local ebay and use them as needed and usually order again. the au sites are legit, ozgolfsales comes up a lot in my purchase history.

    G'day Cam.

Hope you're well mate. Thanks for the reply.

Yeah thought that might be the case with ferrules ... Seems to be a lot of diff sizes and styles etc, so reckon I'd only ever buy ferrules on a per need bases.

Yep, onto ozgolfsales and sending poor Mike bonkers with a billion newbie q's haha, the guy has the patience of a saint.

you can get ferrules for nix from Aliexpress.
If you buy from ebay you just paying more for the same thing, and faster post.

This is where I buy all my ferrules from. They are cheap and it's nice to have a few extra on hand as jobs and new ideas always creep up.

I've built a lot of clubs with that Araldite. Never had an issue.

24hr Araldite is fine for steel shafts but I have stopped using it for graphite shafts as it takes a lot more heat to break the bond than proper golf epoxy, so more chance of damaging the graphite shaft.

Dave, you probably have pulled off more heads than anyone, do you recollect any modern drivers or fairways that have .350 hosels?

thanks. soon i will be looking at installing a 21AD shaft into a driver and fairways, and they are .370, so Finding a .350 OD club makes the hack easier.
I had an Syard T.388 which would have been perfect but like 3PP i couldnt get it up, so it had to go elsewhere.

    Mostly these, plus Taylormade.

    The Golfworks Shaft Replacement Guide is pretty accurate;

can't you get .350 adapters for TM clubs on Amazon? they even do a .370 adapter for the hybrids, any chance one of those would fit into the woods? They look very similar.

Heres an interesting write up how Ping made a set of one length irons from i230's off the rack

    https://golf.com/gear/irons/bryson-d...to-wall/?amp=1

Technically its not that hard in principle, its just math, but making them look not like a lump of poo is another. His SW is really light, gross weight is very heavy and fascinating what they said about CG droop. Would like to know more about that.

One thing they didnt tell is how to change the number stamps on the heads. Photos elsewhere verify they obviously have.

Need some tips on turning down ferrules. Planning on doing it by hand because I won’t do it often enough to warrant a linishing belt setup. What grit sandpaper should I be using? I assume a slightly coarser one to start then a very fine one to finish but can’t find that level of detail online anywhere.

    What’s worked for you?

    Ron,
My approach and I only ever turn them down by hand. How far the ferrule protrudes beyond the width of the hosel will the factor that governs how long this will take. Most people seek out ferrules that are very close in diameter, to cut down onthe effort.

I tape the hosel where it meets the ferrule. I use this as a guide when I'm sanding them, so I don't get too close to the metal. You can tape the shaft end too if you want to be careful.

I tear a strip of 240 grit sand paper, say an inch wide and about 30cm long. Then with the club clamped into a vice with a shaft clamp, I use a saw motion with a hand at each end of the sand paper. For me this allows you to sand the bottom 50% of the ferrule, when you have sanded it to your desired width, spin the club in the shaft clamp and do the other 50%.

I then do the same with something like a 400 grit.

After the sanding, I use some fabric, cotton works best for me. Dip it in acetone and rub over the ferrule to clean up the sanding and to bring a shine to the ferrule. If you fabric is long enough, you can use a similar technique to the sanding.

Has work successfully for me for many years on too many clubs to recall

    Peace

That’s what I’ve always done. Limits the choices though. If I want to use BB&F I’d better learn how to finish them properly.

Cheers. I found one of his other similar videos and it looked good too. I couldn’t tell from that one what grit sandpaper to use so figured I’d ask the here rather than butcher it by guessing wrong.

    I was just being a smart ass….
I use a very fine blade trim excess at the hosel join.
then get lint free tissue and wipe with acetone….
I do have one of these though….
