Instead of a compressor, I use the Ryobi One+ Inflator/Air Pump accessory from their 18v lithium battery range. (Also have a drill and angle grinder, which makes mobile club work easy.)

High-pressure default is 10psi, which can do some grips, but generally use 25-30 psi.
Superstrokes may take 50-70psi, but careful not to blow the end off.

Comes with football and plastic beach ball tips, but I use an old brass one from a cheap kit (was something generically Chinese like Eagle, Champion or Victory). Brass tip fits into car-tyre fitting on air pump hose, so it can easily do wheelbarrow and kids bike tyres.

so if I have a tiny air compressor with around 40-50psi should be fine?

Also, is it as straight forward as injecting the solvent in to the butt end of the grip then shove the air hose in to spread the solvent?

    and something like this?

Guys. How hard is it to remove a shaft from a Ping Eye 2+ Becu club head?

And assuming I get it out nicely, is there anything to bear in mind when fitting the new shaft? It will be a KBS tour shaft .355 taper.

Finally, what glue do you all use when fitting shafts?

    TIA

If the grip was blown on, you should not require any solvent.

You should also get some plastic tubing to put over the grip to prevent it from getting a big air bubble and potentially popping

Pretty simple Dazza, bit of heat, bit of elbow grease twisting the head off. PINGS can be a little stubborn, in fact quite stubborn, so you may need a little patience.

Any decent 2 part epoxy can be used to glue the head to the new shaft.

Plenty of experienced builders here can give you more advice if you need it

Read up about heating BeCu first, as I think the fumes are carcinogenic. (That's why the manufacture of these clubs were discontinued in the 90's.)

Never done and Eye 2+, but I gave up on a Ping Zing SW, as it didn't budg with a 240v Ryobi heat gun. (But a set of Ping Zing 2 were no problem at all.)

    Thanks Dotty & Chappy.

So Becu fumes can be bad too? I thought it was just dust from sanding, grinding etc.
But don't worry, if I do it myself (bit unlikely, but you never know, I might grow a set ) I would definitely do it outside and masked up and a suit of armour on as well.

And it sounds like it might be stubborn to remove the old shaft eh?
I've got a 4i with a broken shaft and just managed to source a matching 3 iron shaft to fit. Will just need to trim it to correct size.

Actually Steve, the snapped shaft ended up coming out pretty easy. Didn't require much heat at all. Definitely no pin in there.
Will re-shaft it on the weekend. Just looking for decent glue.
If anyone would like to share info on exactly what glue they use, I'm all ears.
I have some "Duramax" 5 minute Epoxy (resin & hardener). Is that the kind of thing that is ok?

If you have the time a longer set glue, would be better. Arardite type glues are ok.

    I use Brampton’s epoxy

I use Brampton's as well. The long set stuff is the best if you can take the time. I've found Brampton's better than others. Never had an issue with the bond and never have to use too much heat to pull shafts.

I use Araldite Super Strength. Achieves maximum bond over 24 hours, but I often use it after 12-14 without issue.

Question on extension removal - have a driver shaft a mate wants extended, but currently has an extension installed that is too short. I need to pull the old one out (it's a piece of shaft) - I assume hit will be involved, but any other tips for removal?

Benno I typically use some threaded rob, with a slight taper at the end, big enough to touch the inside of the extension. Screw it into the shaft extension, heat with heat gun and remove like a tip.

I bought a driver off of Facebook and after a couple of uses the adaptor started coming loose. I borrowed a mates shaft extractor and just pulled the adaptor and to my surprise the tip has been extended has anyone ever heard of this? I thought extensions always went it the butt of the shaft?

    So much material Rob...

Having the tip extended would be as practical as having your tip extended, very prone to breakage Extensions should always go in the butt......said the nun to the bishop

Thats what I thought mate I have cut the shaft just below the extension and will glue the adaptor back on then put an extension in the butt of the club.

It's not one of those rubber/tungsten tip weights that's about 8mm long?

No it was graphite shaft with some white plumbers tape under the adaptor. Seems like a dodgy effort at best.
