There are also many confirmed reports of shafts that bend from normal usage. Tons to be found on the net about it.

KBS are the main culprits, but a few reports of Rifles too.

No way should tips be bent when adjusting irons, you bend the entire hosel, not some of it.

I've never seen shaft tips bent whilst adjusting L or L.

I've seen a few been through over use, and excessive delofting

As said above KBS shafts commonly bend around the tip from normal use, not sure about Rifles.

Never keep them long enough to find out.

    Hi fellas,

I just bought a driver shaft, and found out it has a 1.5 inch (plastic) shaft extension on the end after I took the grip off.

It hasn't been tipped, so the old owner must have used it as a 43.5 inch driver.

Swingweight comes in a reasonable d2.

My question is...would there be any difference between what it is now and if it was stock standard?

    Cheers.

It may have been in a 3W at some stage, though it should probably have been tipped if it was (but not always the case). I don't find I notice any great difference with a butt extension in, a better player may, but for most shafts it isn't a biggy I find.

How long is the shaft end to end when gripped? Also what did you put it into that went D2?

Ok. Would have previously been odds on to play 43 - 43.25" in most 3 woods and 43 .75 - 44" in many drivers. The current Pings and Titleist's play shorter per length than most. True SW would be a touch higher than D2 taking into account the plug so sweet as.
