Got "The Tudors" S3 for my birthday...watched Ep 1 last night.

Also finished Rome S2 on the weekend...a very good show. Costuming/sets are spectacular !!!! Not to mention some real talent (nudge nudge wink wink, know what I mean)

IMO, it is without a doubt one of the best TV shows I have ever seen.

I don't watch a lot of TV, but you are probably right. It is pretty good, and a lot better than most American TV.

I did and found it irritating, although don't be to offended I find most TV shows irritating. I'll watch another episode to give it a fair go.

Monty Python: Almost The Truth The Lawyer's Cut

    8:35pm Sunday, 14 Feb 2010 Documentary CC M

Forty years after they were unleashed on an unsuspecting world, Monty Python: Almost The Truth The Lawyer's Cut is the definitive history of the Flying Circus.

This two-part documentary covers the comedy troupe from their birth to the present day, highlighting their childhood, schooling and university life, as well as their pre-Python work.

The documentary features a wealth of sketches from the 45 episodes of Monty Python’s Flying Circus TV series as well as their hilarious live performances and footage from their classic films Holy Grail, Life of Brian and Meaning of Life.

From their fateful start in October 1969, the Monty Python clan – John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Jones, American Terry Gilliam, and Graham Chapman, (who died in 1989 from cancer, aged 4 – ignited a comedic revolution and set the bar for satire, slapstick and outright silliness.

New and exclusive interviews with the comedy troupe members and archival footage of interviews with the late Graham Chapman unveil the deeper truths behind their expertly crafted buffoonery.

Commentary from modern day comedians and performers – including Steve Coogan, Eddie Izzard and Russell Brand – cite Monty Python’s Flying Circus as a core influence on their own work.

Monty Python is credited with a sardonic, even cynical edge that took shots at everything proper; pompous barristers, perverted accountants, daffy psychologists, inept military commanders, supercilious news anchors and all others who represented the ruling class.

Monty Python: Almost The Truth The Lawyer's Cut celebrates the legacy of this dynamic comedic force.
Thanks for the heads up Daves. I am sooo watching that.

    Please do.

Just, no offense taken. I find 95%+ of TV irritating and unwatchable. Hence, I do not have free to air TV at home. I hate it.

Breaking Bad on the other hand, is well worth the time of day. Trust your internet buddy, fwend.

    FTA is so unimaginative.

So a reality cooking show is successful (MasterChef). The response: every network needs a reality cooking show!!

    Greys Anatomy returns tonight.

Ok, so it's far from my favourite show but it's an hour spent together with my wife ... and another hour closer to me firing up the PS3.

I always have to watch it with the missus. Seems to put her in a good mood so I don't mind too much.

Not sure if anyone watched this when it was on, or even knows who the host is but
    ''Paul Merton in China''
which recently finished on the ABC was a very funny travel show.

Interesting comment - I don't see that in him - I actually like his sarcastic, piss take attitude, but of course with all single vehicle shows I can see how some can see it as you did.

Does anyone watch "Have I got news for You" which is where the tired, cheaper and no where near as funny "Good news Week" came from.

Paul Mertons and Ian Hislop are piss funny in that. And Kirsty Young presented a few shows.... Yummy.

I haven't even watched last season's Lost yet, even though I have it. It's hard to keep interest in it.
