I love it! I used to sing Jasmine to sleep with Sympathy for the Devil.

I've never ever really listened to them, but I'll download some stuff from Google music to listen to. Any suggestions for choice albums, maybe a greatest hits or two, and do they have any live recordings?

#2 was most excited. When she was in Prep we got called in because most of the kids favourite songs were twinkle twinkle little star etc and hers was Fear of The Dark. Gotta bring em up right! I can let you know which songs off The Book of Souls they played if you like, but it is 6 of the 11 You can probably find the complete set list on google, assuming they don't change it.

Some pics, might give away a song ...
Just got home from Maiden. Amazing performance as always. Bruce Dickenson and Nico are standouts in concert given the amount of effort they have to put into the performance and their age. They're not spring chickens anymore. Dave Murray is still my favourite though. Just does his thing, no fuss and he sounds so good. Great night.

Saw the amazing Steven Wilson at the Eatons Hill hotel last night.

What a fantastic gig, superb musicianship, great live sound and awesome songs.

I saw Jamiroquai three weeks ago. They haven't been in Australia for fifteen years, and I didn't see them then, so when I saw that I would be in Vienna at the same time, I jumped at the opportunity.

The set list was a good mix across all albums, with about 5 from the ordinary recent album. They did play the better songs from the album, but I did use one for a toilet break and beer refill.

Overall, it was still very enjoyable.

I only really discovered them (well, bothered listening rather than just knowing their name) when I was searching for acid jazz stuff and they were listed. Don't mind them.

Good to hear. I hope they come back to Oz some day soon, I'm still keen to hear them, even if their recent stuff is a bit meh.

JayKay's movement is a bit limited after some back issues too, so don't expect the great dance moves. He is like an old chubby guy shuffling around in a tracksuit. Still good though.

Saw Tim Minchen last night. Was originally spewing that the Leon day ended up the same day, but with the allergy reaction I had yesterday I couldn't have played anyway!

2 hours non stop, and easily one of the best concerts/productions I've ever seen! Engaged really well with the crowd, and his band was shit hot, and you could tell they were having a ball themselves! If you get a chance, and you don't mind the odd swear word, go and catch a great site.

Just impulse bought a couple of 65 buck U2 tickets for the SCG on Sat night. I couldn't resist at that price, even if they end up being nosebleeds.

Happy to meet up for a drink or 2 beforehand if anyone else is going...

Saw him, early 90's I think. Prior to him hitting it big with all the ballards material. Love his rock. Still listen to his Live at the LA Forum album, and have a copy of the vid. Atlantic Crossing is my fav album of his.

I saw them in Melbourne last week. I’ve seen them about a dozen times and I was a little disappointed the last few times, so I wasn’t expecting much (and dreading another sermon or 3 from Bono). They were fantastic. $65 is a bargain for U2 & Noel Gallagher (he was great too).

He touched on a couple of things, but there wasnt the distraction from the show that there has been previously.

Reading the news from the Sydney show last night - get there early!

Yeah, I read about Fri night and a 1km queue while Noel Gallagher was playing. My brother went and was in GA...got there around 5pm and said he got in fairly easily

My girlfriend and I got there just after 7 last night...pretty straightforward getting to our seats.

Show was fantastic. A little bit of Bono speak here and there, and some somewhat fun banter about Irish inventions, but plenty of fan favourites and the stage setup was spectacular to say the least. Best $130 I've spent in yonks!!

I'm thinking of doing a bit of a road trip and seeing Elton up in Coffs Harbour in late Feb, so will check out what tix are available come Christmas.

Rob and I were gifted Harry Styles tickets by our daughter, and went to the GC show last night.
I was very impressed with him - he really was a consummate performer. His stage presence was off the chart, and his interaction with the crowd never felt forced, and he really did seem like he was having fun on stage, which is something I look for in a concert. I've even added the support act on Spotify, as they were really right up my alley!

But at the same time, it was probably one of the worst concert experiences I've ever had. Firstly, the sound up where the air was thin was very ordinary and muddy (at least where we were). It was near impossible to understand what he was singing unless you knew the words (and I don't remember lyrics) and it really was just a wall of sound without clarity or definition. Yes, it was a stadium show and I only have 2 x Taylor Swift stadium shows at Lang Park to compare to, but they certainly had a much cleaner sound, while still being loud and lively.
But, worse still was this was I guess what a Beatles concert in Australia in the 60's was like, except instead of constant screaming (sure, there was still a lot), it was nearly everyone singing every word of the show at the top of their lungs. They drowned out 80+% of the sound, and sure, I'm an old fart that likes to hear the show too. I wasn't at all concerned about everyone on their seats dancing around us etc. But just not being able to really hear what was happening on stage was personally dissapointing. But at the same time, I wasn't surprised this was the crowd reaction.
Still an experience to go through, and honestly I hope some live material of his releases on Spotify or a live disc or something comes out, as I'd love to see and hear it.
Also, a number of his regular band were on holidays, which is perfectly fine, cept I do like his regular band and for me, that's part of the whole show.
Ticket prices I'll leave for another thread.
