    Default Mornington and Bellarine ..

I know there are a couple of threads already on this ... but I wanted to see if there was some more up to date info.

I'm on holidays down there in the New Year. Will play Portsea, as it's reciprocal..

    Thinking ...

    Moonah Links - Legends
    National Ocean
    The Dunes

    then

    Barwon Heads
    13th Beach Ocean

    Thoughts?

    Marto.

Good. I loved playing that course.

I have unfortunately played Moonah Open instead of Legends.

Have you played St Andrew's Beach? That may trump The Dunes.

You probably need to list what you have already played down there.

I've only played National Old .. and 9 holes at Rosebud.

I've played all the Sandbelt except Yarra Yarra.

National Old would be in my Top 5 in Aus.

I agree, St Andrews Beach would be right at the top of my list!

Give The Dunes a miss. If you can make it to Flinders, that's quite a nice course

If you start out depressed everything’s kind of a pleasant surprise.

Definately St Andrews over Nat. Ocean or the Dunes (although Dunes is a good track)
from reports Nat. Moonah is a much better course than Ocean. Portsea is a very good and
    fun track.

Barwon Heads is a great course, very old school feel to it (don't be put off by the members or the stuffy proshop)

I'm on the Bellarine - if you're playing 13th Beach, try to make sure you play on a day they have the Beach course open - the creek course is nice enough but its not in the same league (and probably not worth the 70 odd bucks they charge for a hit). I think they switch courses each day for visitors. Barwon Heads - definitely. Just a really nice course, and a refreshing change from those too hard over-done roller coaster championship courses that seem to be the only premium option.

If you're up for a cheap and cheerful hit to break up all this premium golf or you're looking for a Saturday comp round, give me a yell and I'll get you on at Queenscliff.

Don't know too much about the other peninsula, but St Andrews Beach is pretty impressive. Another vote for that one.
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!

Looks like I cant get on the National ... no visitors between Christmas Holiday dates.

Might have to play the Moonah Open course...

You have to play St Andrews Beach. It is the best public course on the mainland.

I played Sorrento today for the first, what a fantastic little course.

From looking around the inside of the clubhouse, looks very elitist too.

    Great day
