    Default Champs-why the crap scores?

Why do you say that the scores are crap? The handicap system is such that you aren't meant to play under your handicap very often, so to do it two rounds in a row would be a very good effort, especially on a more penal course.

If I don't score better next year, I'll chuck one of nudgee's turds in the air and catch it in my mouth.

Because the bunkers are so shit, and the greens are furry/bumpy the only way to score well around there is to hit a lot of greens. The forward tees don't help so much on a lot of holes. They just force you to hit poof clubs off the tee to lay up to the same spot as you would be from the back tees (like #9 - I hit a 4 iron).

I didn't enjoy the course setup at all. Don't think PW are doing themselves any favours at the moment with course setup. They seem to be hell bent on catering to the lowest common denominator.

Although I am not a fan of playing off the blacks on Sunday, some of the tees we played were a long way forward. We are at the mercy of the club somewhat too.

I put it down to the swing change I'm doing. That is, having a weekly lesson to get a more technically sound, more consistent swing. What shits me is that in the week prior I was hitting it so well and really looking forward to the games. I wonder if hitting a thousand balls the day before during a club fitting grooved some of the old swing faults back in. That coupled with a shit attitude. F nose.

There's always next year. If it's not sorted by then I'll give it away

Yeah, I would've expected winning scores over the two days would be around 75-76ish, minus 2 for the one shot pretty much everyone dropped with the handicap changes prior to the event. Then minus another 2 for the drink. So I suppose 71-72 for the two days is a pretty decent score for the champs on a strange course.

Funnily enough 71 or 72 wouldn't get me within 5 or 6 points of the winner at a two day event at my home track, yet would've been enough to heavily contest the champs.

    Strange game.

The field at the champs is somewhat smaller than most weekend fields.

Everyone has their excuses. For me, I just made silly mistakes and putted poorly all weekend. Probably my worst champs scores so far I think. No excuses either, as the weather was fine and we played off the ladies tees on Sunday.

    ^^^This was my biggest issue.

The bunkers were crap, but I got out of all but one in one shot. It was a goal to do so for the weekend.

That, and the fact that I managed to re-find my SuperPowerFade...
